TV is a big part of my life; I watch a lot of it, which means the invention of the DVR has been my saving grace. Over the years, I’ve DVRed one-off programs, of course, but a smart TV viewer knows to DVR whole series so that a brain fart on Monday morning won’t lead to missing the latest episode of “The Bachelor,” which would obviously be a tragedy. The problem is that these days, I’ve noticed that I’m DVRing a lot of TV shows I don’t even watch anymore and haven’t in years. If you had told me the lead singer of Aerosmith was going to dress up in drag and refer to himself as “Pepper LaBeija from the House of Labeija” two days ago, I would have punched you in your facehole. It’s a reference to the classic 1990 drag documentary “Paris Is Burning,” and probably went right on over the heads of most “American Idol” viewers, but wow, did my love of Steven Tyler just creep up a small degree. Nineteen-year-old Zoanette Johnson, from Tulsa Oklahoma, may quite possibly be the greatest “American Idol” contestant to ever audition in the history of the talent show. Why, you ask? Becacuse Zoanette isn’t amazingly gorgeous or slender in size. She isn’t a carbon-copy of a Beyonce-wanna-be and between her yellow blazer, brown furrah, pink blouse, shorts and red boots, she clearly isn’t that fashion savvy. But Zoanette has all the personality in the world! And somehow that won her a gold ticket to Hollywood week.  We can’t wait to see what kind of stunts she pulls in the group rounds.

Nicki Minaj Swears She And “American Idol” Cohost Mariah Carey Are “Fine”

The white flag has been waved and the olive branch extended …we think! Nicki Minaj has opened up about her post-fight relationship with Mariah Carey, saying that they have been “fine” since the dust up witnessed ’round the world.

Carey and Minaj were feuding on the set of ‘American Idol,’ where both are new judges, with Minaj feeling dissed by Carey for constantly interrupting her. It was reported that Minaj threatened the singer with a gun. Carey subsequently said she upped her security. It had us wondering if there was too much diva on one reality show panel, and the events likely had producers sweating bullets. Pink bullets, but bullets nonetheless. Read more…

During the live show, Ryan Seacrest pulled former contestant Ace Young and girlfriend/fellow former contestant Diana DeGarmo on stage … where, to Diana’s surprise, Ace proposed!
