Oh my. It sounds like someone needs a spanking from Tina Fey.
A man named Kevin Rogers took to Facebook after a Tracy Morgan standup show in Nashville on June 3 to share the disappointing news that Morgan is an unabashed bigot towards gays. Not like “ha, ha, gay dudes wear product in their hair” but real bigotry. TMZ reports that the audience booed Morgan and some people even walked out.
So what did he say that was so offensive? Keep reading »
I knew Tina Fey
‘s five-year-old daughter Alice had badass swagger
. But I didn’t know she writes Tracy Morgan’s lines! While promoting her memoir Bossypants
on “Conan,” Tina revealed that the weird things that come out of Tracy Jordan
‘s mouth on “30 Rock
” were often the cute things that came out of Alice’s mouth first. I guess next season we can look forward to Tracy saying, “You know, the most romantic part of the human body is the butt.” [Team Coco

Tracy Morgan took a seat on the estrogen-soaked couch of “The View” yesterday. He and Sherri Shepherd have a special relationship since she plays his wife on “30 Rock.” While watching a clip of the sitcom where Tracy got to show off his revenge body, Sherri shared a little secret. “Every time he came out, he would stuff something in his pants,” she said. Tracy did not approve. “That wasn’t stuffed!” Tracy insisted. “No. No. That’s me. You know I’m magically delicious.” And it only got funnier from there. [Huffington Post] Keep reading »
Tina Fey is pregnant! Yesterday, while promoting her new memoir Bossypants on “Oprah,” Tina Fey announced she is five months pregnant. The 40-year-old and her husband, Jeff Richmond, a composer for “30 Rock,” already have a five-year-old daughter, Alice. Damn, I am so irrationally excited about this and I’m not a woman who usually cares about what’s going on in a celeb’s uterus. Who else is psyched for the growing army of mini-Tina Feys that she is producing? BWAHAHAHA! I can’t wait to see how her pregnancy gets incorporated into a Liz Lemon storyline on “30 Rock.” Mazel tov, Tina! [People] Keep reading »
Okay, so I’m confused. “30 Rock” is about to film its 100th episode, and to mark the occasion Tina Fey extended an invitation to Bill Clinton to be a guest star on the show. Why? Most people seem to think that she wanted him to match wits with Alec Baldwin’s character, Jack Donaghy, who is super conservative. The whole thing could have been awesome and totally hilarious. Bill could even have played a few bars on the saxophone for good measure! But, his staff turned down the offer. “The request was made and immediately denied without asking him,” a Clinton rep said. “The part of Jack Donaghy [on "30 Rock"] was written for Alec Baldwin. Unfortunately, I did not have the courage to introduce myself to him and tell him that at the time, so for several months I met with some of the best actors in New York, and also some that are only okay. And with each meeting I had in an attempt to cast Jack Donaghy, it just became clearer and clearer that this part was for no one except Alec Baldwin. And so I knew what I had to do: I got pregnant and I stalled for a year. And then when I came back from my maternity leave at “SNL,” Alec was hosting the show, and he was having fun with it that week and the sketches were not terrible, thankfully, and so Lorne and I said to each other, ‘Should we ask him? Maybe we should just ask him.’ And so, I hid and Lorne asked him, and here we are five years and almost a hundred dollars later … Our show would not have gotten on the air without you. It would not have remained on the air without you. I shudder to think what low-rent “Two and a Half Men” show we would have without you.
— An excerpt from Tina Fey‘s speech honoring Alec Baldwin at the Museum of the Moving Image. See the rest of the speech here. “30 Rock” is quite possibly the funniest show on television. I am still in mourning about the fact that Alec is leaving. [NY Mag] Keep reading »
