The “30 Rock” season six promo is here! When the show comes back on January 12, Liz Lemon is hiding something from the “TGS” cast and crew. Is it a baby? A new boyfriend? The secret recipe for the dust on Sabor de Soledad chips?  If I know Liz Lemon (and Jack Donaghy, and Jenna Maroney), she won’t be able to keep it a secret for long. Oh, blerg! [Celebuzz]

Who Should Be Liz Lemon’s Love Interest?

Perhaps this will be the season that Liz Lemon finds love? “30 Rock” has put out a casting call for a new love interest, and it certainly has our mental gears turning. On the show, Tina Fey‘s character has been wooed (or tried to woo) Dean Winters, Jason Sudeikis, Matt Damon, and Jon Hamm. Who could possibly be next in that trajectory? The show is looking for an unknown between the ages of 36 and 40, who can embody “California-bred with liberal values and a youthful innocence.” But we don’t want to limit ourselves just to that. After the jump, who we’d like to see get the part. Keep reading »

Tina Fey On Tracy Morgan’s Homophobic Jokes

“Because of my real-life pregnancy, we don’t go back on the air until January. I’m hoping that Tracy will have, and the world will have, forgotten about that by then. He from the first has gone around very sincerely and done his best to try to make up for the foolishness. … It’s the kind of story that even if it happened to someone else, we would probably turn it into a Tracy story. So we may use it.”

Tina Fey talks to Deadline Hollywood about Tracy Morgan‘s homophobic jokes during his standup performance in Nashville in June. Tracy apologized almost immediately for the dreadful things he said — like how if his son came out to him as gay, Tracy would stab him — and Tina publicly chastised the comic as well for his “disturbing” jokes. Now she says the incident may be written into an episode of “30 Rock,” which certainly sounds like it would be believable. I’m not sure anything about it is especially funny, though. Do you think “30 Rock” doing an episode about homophobic jokes would be a good idea? [Deadline.com] Keep reading »

Beyoncé Excited To Turn 30, Starting To Think About Babies

“I’m gonna be 30. I can’t wait because 29 is very strange. You’re still in your 20s but you feel like you’re supposed to be 30, and I feel like a woman. I feel like 30 is the ideal age because you’re mature enough to know who you are and to have your boundaries and your standards and not be afraid of [being] too polite. But you’re young enough to be a young woman, and I’m so looking forward to it. I always said I would have a baby at 30. But I also said I was gonna retire at 30. So I don’t know. I’m not retiring, I’ll tell you.”

Beyoncé talks to Piers Morgan about her new album 4 and the big birthday that is right around the corner in September. I gotta agree with you, ‘Yonce, I’ve never quite understood why people fear turning 30. I like reboots and new beginnings, so was all about entering a brand spanking new decade. [CNN] Keep reading »

Tina Fey Calls Tracy Morgan’s Anti-Gay Bigotry “Disturbing”

“I’m glad to hear that Tracy apologized for his comments. Stand-up comics may have the right to “work out” their material in its ugliest and rawest form in front of an audience, but the violent imagery of Tracy’s rant was disturbing to me at a time when homophobic hate crimes continue to be a life-threatening issue for the GLBT Community. It also doesn’t line up with the Tracy Morgan I know, who is not a hateful man and is generally much too sleepy and self-centered to ever hurt another person. I hope for his sake that Tracy’s apology will be accepted as sincere by his gay and lesbian coworkers at “30 Rock”, without whom Tracy would not have lines to say, clothes to wear, sets to stand on, scene partners to act with, or a printed-out paycheck from accounting to put in his pocket. The other producers and I pride ourselves on “30 Rock” being a diverse, safe, and fair workplace.”

Tina Fey released a statement responding to the news that Tracy Morgan made hateful comments about gays while performing stand-up comedy in Nashville on June 3. Morgan said gays needed to stop “whining” about bullying and that he would stab his son if he ever found he out was gay, among other nastiness. Do you think Tina Fey’s reponse — whether as executive producer of “30 Rock” or as his friend — was appropriate? Or do you think she could have come down a little more harder? [After Ellen] Keep reading »
