Jennifer Love Hewitt To Replace Mariska Hargitay On “SVU”?

Just as we learn that Ashton Kutcher is replacing Charlie Sheen on “Two and a Half Men,” we hear (ghost) whispers of another television switcheroo. Apparently, Mariska Hargitay, who plays detective Olivia Benson on “Law & Order: SVU,” has negotiated a new contract for the 13th season of the show. Mid-season, Benson will get a promotion to supervisor, meaning that Mariska will clock far fewer hours on the show. So who will be stepping in to be Elliot Stabler’s new partner? Jennifer Love Hewitt, apparently. Keep reading »

Jennifer Love Hewitt Has Her Engagement Ring(s) All Picked Out

“Well, I actually have three [engagement rings] because I feel like I’m doing the guy a favor. I feel women are very confusing. We never know what we want and we’re not very good at nailing that down for them. And I feel like I don’t want to be upset if he picks a bad ring, so I feel like having three picked out and saying, ‘Look! Look at this plethora of things you can chose from!’”

– Jennifer Love Hewitt, who has been engaged twice already, is definitely dropping hints that she’s ready for her boyfriend of six months to pop the question. But I’m curious, would you ever pick out your own ring or would you prefer to be surprised? I can see picking out a ring together, but I can’t imagine, like, emailing links to my BF and being all, “Hey babe, here are some diamonds I totally love, just in case you need ideas!” A little presumptuous, no? Jennifer Love Hewitt Channels Classic “90210″-Style

When I saw the dress Jennifer Love Hewitt chose for this past weekend’s Art of Elysium event in Hollywood, I felt an overwhelming sense of familiarity. What does this atrocious gown remind me of? And then it hit me — it’s like a modern version of the dress both Kelly and Brenda wore (scandal!) to the spring formal on “Beverly Hills, 90210″! I love that my favorite TV show of all time — which I still watch in reruns on Soap Net every single day — continues to have a lasting impact on the world. Keep reading »

“OK!” Magazine Co-Opts Bullying For Stars “Bullied For Their Weight”

The effects of bullying are in the news everywhere lately, from the teen girl, Megan Meier, who killed herself after being harassed on MySpace, to Rutgers freshman Tyler Clementi and the spate of copycat suicides that followed him. As crushing as the reports of each new suicide can be, I’m also grateful that the mainstream media is finally paying attention to the issues that lay underneath bullying — like an article about Clementi that made last week’s cover of People magazine. Any conversation about bullying is an opportunity to make people think about their own use of intimidation and the abuse of power.

But I take issue with OK! magazine’s recent cover depicting Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jennifer Hudson under the tag line “Bullied For Their Weight: They’ll Never Call Me Fat Again!” Um, skinny, beautiful, rich women are the two victims you could come up with for a bullying story? And they stuck it to their bullies by going on a juice diet? Yeah, that’s the message we want to send: capitulate to the bullies and you won’t be given crap anymore! If some jerks is calling you a heifer, drop from size 16 to size 4. That’ll show ‘em. Keep reading »

Quotable: Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Mom Thought Her “Crack Ho” Role Was “Hilarious”

“She thinks it’s hilarious. She was like, ‘So let’s review … For 15 years people have been talking about your boobs. Earlier this year, you wrote about your hoo-ha in a book. Now you’re playing a crack ho on TV.’ She was like, ‘Do you think maybe you could do an animated movie next?’”

Jennifer Love Hewitt dishes on her mom’s reaction to her Lifetime flick “The Client List,” which aired last night. Did anyone watch? What did you think? [People] Keep reading »
