Inspiration Board: Solange At The Tom Ford Fashion Show

Solange was one of a hundred guests invited to view Tom Ford’s return to womenswear last night. While Tom brought the theatrics with his spring 2011 collection, Solange kept her look refined yet sassy; we’re really loving the sheen and fit of her cigarette pants, as well as her turban. And you know this shoe fetishist kept her footwear on point! This is an easy look to add to your reserves. Find out how after the jump. Keep reading »

Do You Take Style Inspiration From Fashion Week Even If It’s The Wrong Season?

Fashion just can’t live in the present, can it? You see this when bikinis hit the shelves in February, and when the stores start stocking chunky knits in 90-degree weather. And now runway fashion, which is always shown a season ahead, is more on your radar than ever thanks to Twitter and the blogosphere, which makes it available instantly (whereas before, you might actually see fall collections for the first time in fall magazine issues). Of course, we’re not complaining because we gobble up images of the shows minutes after they’re posted. By now, we’ve nearly forgotten about the autumn/winter merchandise we saw on the runway months ago, and now have new obsessions. Problem is, short-short weather is months off. Regardless, we definitely find ourselves taking style inspiration from fashion week, even if it’s the wrong season. Do you do this, too? Keep reading »

The Higher The Platform Shoe, The Closer To God

Ameriie, Some Women Aren’t Meant To Be Blonde

Ameriie seems to be banking on her new platinum hair and the new spelling of her name (she’s added an extra “i”) to sell her new album. But let’s just say two out of three of her new ventures are fails. And since I haven’t yet heard the album, you know exactly what I’m talking about. [The YBF] Keep reading »

Ladylike Pumps With A Rock ‘N’ Roll Edge

With fall just around the corner, it’s time to put away our open-toed slingbacks and flip-flops in favor of shoes that shelter our dogs from the cold. These towering Botkin pumps are the perfect shoe to take you from the office to happy hour — the round toe is demure and ladylike, while the detailing on the heel gives the shoe an unexpected tough edge. Plus, this rusty shade of burgundy is special but still neutral enough to match with anything in your closet. We’ll take them in a size 8, thanks!
