Nerd Girl Porn: Sexy Vampires

I was a little skeptical about “The Vampire Diaries” until I watched this teaser. I thought the CW was just trying to capitalize on the vampire resurgence in the cheesy way that only that network can. But I was wrong. This trailer gave me the same excitement I had when I first saw “True Blood” and read the Twilight series. You can bet we’ll cover “The Vampire Diaries” in the fall once it premieres. Will you watch the show? Or are sick of vampires already?
It’s fun to look at men’s fashion show photos, if only to look at the models and their taut bodies. But the guys walking at Gareth Pugh, John Galliano, and Alexander McQueen didn’t look hot. No, they looked scary. In fact, they looked a lot like zombies. Could this be a pop culture trend in the making? Are zombies going to become the new vampires? One pop culture seems to think so. Or maybe the models are just depressed about the grim state of the economy. [NY Mag]
I’ve been waiting for it, and finally, Sarah Haskins has targeted vampires, specifically the mania surrounding “Twilight.” Is Edward Cullen really the perfect boyfriend? Fans at a “Twilight” book signing try to convince her that he is. Hilarious!
Late last night, while I was up watching TV and craving macaroni and cheese, I caught the world’s most awesome episode of “The Tyra Show” that aired originally on Halloween. Crazy ass Ty-Ty interviewed a ton of “real life vampires” about their blood drinking lifestyle. Most of the guests were your garden variety Dracula wannabes, but my favorite was Sarah, who says she doesn’t crave blood because it’s “cliche and rudimentary.” She says she was born a vampire, but doesn’t like to hang out with other vampires and would rather spend her time with “other sorts.” She also says she is psychic, can go days without eating and just feeds off other peoples’ “energy”, thinks sex is gross, prefers hardcore hip-hop like Too Short to The Cure, and enjoys watching “America’s Next Top Model.” She seems like fun to me. I kind of want to hang out with her. Call me Sarah!
This weekend “Biography” highlights the four key players in the presidential election, just in time for Election Day, this Tuesday November 4th. And if you’re as enthralled with the resurgence of vampire culture as we are, check out the BIO channel on Saturday for “Secret Life of Vampires” at 5 pm. The program will be a study of vampire legends and the impact on pop culture. On Sunday you can watch “True Blood,” which dispels some vampire legends and fully embraces others. See what other Frisky-esque shows are airing this weekend after the jump.
Sure, dressing up for Halloween is fun and all, but buying a costume that you’ll wear for one night seems like a waste of money. We suggest you put together an ensemble from your own closet, then splurge on a little piece of jewelry that invokes that spirit of the season but can be worn all year. Diamonds make spiders seem a whole lot more appealing, don’t they?

Vampires are back baby, in a little movie that’s got a whole lot of underground buzz called Twilight—check out the trailer above. Based on a series of young adult novels by Stephanie Meyer, the film is seriously all the kiddies are talking about on the internet it seems. So, because I like to be hip with the young crowd, I decided to do some research. For starters, Twilight is a love story between an average, beautiful heroine named Bella and a vampire named Edward Cullen (played by the hottie who was Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter). What’s awesome about Edward and his family is that they are totally rebellious and abstain from drinking human blood and drink animal blood instead—friends of PETA they are not. Anyway, it reminded me of my own youth, spent crushing on goth boys, and I decided to put together a list of the Hottest Vampires.
That hottie Cedric Diggory is going to be in another movie! Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire star Robert Pattinson stars in the hotly anticipated vampire movie, Twilight, based on a series of books by some goth writer. Apparently the story is about some teenage girl who risks everything when she falls in love with a vampire! Kind of like our Simcha and her tween crush on The Count.
