What is it with us and young dudes lately? Chris Brown, all of 19-years old, has gone from being cute-as-a-button to downright smokin’ in just a few short years. If he’s not dating his “big sister” Rihanna, then will he consider us?

Rihanna, who was born and raised in Barbados, came onto the music scene in 2005 with her hit “Pon De Replay.” She’s released other songs such as “SOS” and “Unfaithful,” but Rihanna’s popularity took off with the release of her third and most successful album. Good Girl Gone Bad produced eight hits including “Umbrella,” “Please Don’t Stop The Music,” and “Take a Bow.” She also created a line of umbrellas after the popularity of her hit song. She has plans to work on a fourth album this year. Her musical influences include Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Beyonce. Rihanna is the cultural ambassador to her country. In 2006, Rihanna created a charity organization, Believe, which is dedicated to providing medical services, school supposed and toys to children in need. She’s also signed on to endorse a variety of companies including Venus Gillette, Secret and Cover Girl.
Winter is officially over, meaning you might want to abandon that super dark nail polish, unless it’s your signature look or you’re Ashlee Simpson. We’ve really been liking Rihanna’s fluorescent nails at the Grammys and in her ad for H&M. (I’m totally copying her by wearing neon pink right now.) When we were looking around for new nail polish colors, we came upon Essie’s spring line and realized that each of the six colors has a name that relates to dating. The best color by far is Looking For Love (left), a lovely lavender. Part of the reason fluorescent nails seem so appealing right now is probably because spring means pastel to a lot of people, and pastels can be pretty freakin’ boring. We’re big freaks for tights here at The Frisky—no matter the pattern, chances are Amelia, Catherine, Simcha, and Emily are rocking a pair at least three days out of the week (during the winter, of course). But what about leather (or lame and latex) leggings and tights? The leg wear has been seen on everyone from Lindsay Lohan to Frisky Patron Saint Rihanna, but our normally adventurous stems can’t quite wrap get with the Jazzercize look. Catherine says she only finds them acceptable on Rihanna, because she’s the awesomest, but finds them unwearable on regular folk. What do you think? Also, what happens if you get all sweaty in them? We’re reminded of that episode of Friends when Ross wears leather pants on a date and then can’t get out of them because he’s so sweaty, eventually dumping talcum powder all over himself while hiding in the bathroom. Yesterday we anointed Rihanna one of the Patron Saints of The Frisky. Turns out, we weren’t just being cute! The singer put out a plea for a bone marrow donor for 41-year old leukemia Lisa Gershowitz-Flynn and as a result 5,000 people contacted DKMS and a donor was found. Way to go Ri-Ri! [Digital Spy U.K.]

Speculation about Lindsay Lohan’s leanings have been gossip fodder before – she has been photographed kissing everyone from Donna Karan to Rumer Willis—so it’s not surprising that it’s the topic of discussion yet again. This time, because she’s been holding hands with Courtenay Semel. But let’s put aside questions about Lindsay’s sexuality and instead focus on the fact that women can’t hold hands without being called lesbians.
