In case you were stuck in a cave somewhere and missed the “Project Runway” finale, you can watch it on Saturday. Bravo will also re-air the final episode of “The Rachel Zoe Project” on Saturday, too. You can also check out the complete season of “Baby Borrowers.” I’m kind of excited about the Dooney & Bourke event on QVC, which airs Saturday afternoon. On Sunday, you can watch the classic “Mommie Dearest” while you clean out your closet for fall. Remember, no wire hangers, evahhhhhhh! And of course, Sunday is great for primetime viewing.

Heidi-ho! (Get it?) So, in 10 minutes or so, the season finale of “Project Runway” starts. Couple o’ things you should know—I am popping my live-blogging cherry tonight, I’m drinking a glass of wine, and may be temporarily detained paying for the burrito I just ordered. BUT during the commercials, I’m planning on flipping over to the Presidential Debate for little POLITICAL INTERLUDES so that not a second of your precious time is wasted. Oh, and listen up, if you are watching the show with me, please, oh please, contribute to the convo with your comments! It will be fun and make me feel like less of a crazy person, talking to herself. Awesome.

FINAL THOUGHTS: This obviously did not go as planned. We had some server cacheing problems. If it makes you feel better, I was so panicked trying to get this to work, my burrito went cold. Next time we will, uh, have the kinks worked out of this whole “live blogging” thing. And yes. LEANNE WON! (Sorry West Coasters…)

What, did you think I was going to live blog the debate? I’m Tivoing that nonsense so I can fast forward through the boring bits. Anyhoo, YES, I am going to give my first shot at livvvvveblogging by logging on giving away all the dirty details as they happen on the “Project Runway” season finale this evening. So, be sure to be reading The Frisky starting tonight at 9pm EST. In the meantime, who do you think is going to win the whole shebang?

We’ve always known that “Project Runway” contestant Leanne makes beautiful clothes, so our decision to support Leanne on this week’s season finale was solidified when we discovered she has an Etsy shop where she has been vending her girly Leanimal line of clothes since last summer. Unfortunately, none of her designs are available right now—on her shop’s home page, she apologizes for her absence, saying “You may know it’s because I was working on a collection for Fashion Week. I am finally back to work for me as usual. More stuff finally coming this week!” We tried reading into the statement to figure out whether Leanne is this season’s winner, but then we got distracted by the feedback she has received on her clothes. While her 193 Etsy buyers aren’t Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia, or Michael Kors, they are a satisfied bunch of ladies who adored Leanne’s line even before she became a reality TV star. Here’s a sampling:

The judges finally revealed on last night’s episode the three designers that will show their collections at Bryant Park. And as I suggested last week, Jerell was unfortunately auf’d. Despite my crush on Jerell, I have to admit that he deserved it. I would have been really embarrassed for him to seriously show his collection, which was more suited as a decoy. Although the final elimination was the big draw for me, the rest of the episode was equally exciting.

The judges said it and the pictures speak for themselves (McQueen on the left, Kenley on the right). Girlfriend may not have been original, but the craftsmanship on her knockoff was still better than Jerrel’s doo-dad hot mess.

The designers had to create gowns inspired by photos taken at the New York Botanical Garden. There were a lot of tears on the runway this week, so I guess the producers decided to keep the drama flowing because the judges didn’t eliminate anyone this week. Instead, Heidi said the judges would wait until the collections were underway and would decide who goes to Bryant Park at that point. I didn’t think it was really a hard decision to make. They should have eliminated the designer that has only won one challenge on her own and who makes strikingly similar dresses each episode—Kenley!

For this week’s challenge, the contestants had to design for each other based on a musical genre. Kenley created a hip-hop outfit for Leanne, who designed a country music outfit for Korto. Korto made a punk-inspired look for Suede. And Suede created a rock outfit for Jerell, who turned Kenley into a pop diva with his design. The drama popped off from the beginning of the episode, but most of it centered around Miss Bratty Kenley, which is how I realized I have a major crush on Jerell.

Red lipstick, brown hair, ‘tude-tastic, and she likes to wear feathers—on paper, Kenley from Project Runway sounds like my celeb doppleganger! It was girl crush at first episode. However, as the season has progressed, that brat has broken my heart and now she seems more like my evil twin. Kenley may make ladylike dresses but she has some seriously bad manners. She’s been so rude, I feel betrayed by my style and she’s made me reconsider my love of retro.  When Kenley laughed at poor Joe on the runway with her trained poodle protégé, it made me want to puke all over her handmade dress. You know when Tim Gunn has to sit you down for a talk, you better step off. Alas, Kenley thinks she is too cool for the way of the Gunn and just seems to be taking her self-image on a downward spiral.  Karma is an even bigger bitch than you, Kenley! Everyone with cable television has seen you in action and just like these Bratz, your day is coming, doll. [Seattle PI]

Was anyone else as horrified by Kenley’s behavior on last night’s episode of “Project Runway” as I was? I mean, forget her incredible rudeness when she laughed at poor Joe’s design on the runway, or the unbearable narcissism she displayed in being paired with a mini-her of a client whom she could easily mold into whatever she wanted. Kenley dared to do the absolute unthinkable. Girlfriend disrespected Tim Gunn.

I know I’m getting a little ahead of Project Runway’s TV schedule, but I just couldn’t resist discussing the final collections of the remaining six contestants, especially since photos of the shows are available everywhere, including Bravo. Although Jerell, Joe, Kenley, Suede, Korto and Leanne debuted their collections, I suspect the men were decoys because all three of them lacked design innovation—or had collections that were just plain ugly. This week on Project Runway, the designers were partnered with season five’s eliminated contestants and were challenged to create an avant-garde look based on the zodiac. Once Tim specified that the designs had to be based on the zodiac, I knew they would either be hot, stinking, costume-y messes or chances for the designers to really shine. I was disappointed by half of them.

I know we’ve said this before, but The Rachel Zoe Project, which premieres tonight at 11 p.m. on Bravo, looks like it’s going to be better than Project Runway and The Hills combined. Please don’t let us down, Bravo. (Doesn’t Rachel’s hubby look über-young? Amelia says he reminds her of Brent Bolthouse.)

Some of us at The Frisky predict that Leanne will win this season’s Project Runway competition because she has a well-defined design perspective—her designs scream her name. She revisits a combination of trends/elements in each of her covetable designs. Since we know you too have been dying to wear her fashions, we found some items that have these trends and are available now.

Last night’s episode of Project Runway was one of the best yet because the designers were challenged to create a look to add to Diane Von Furstenburg’s Fall collection, which was inspired by Marlene Dietrich in A Foreign Affair.  Yes, Diane Von Frickin’ Furstenberg took time away from her fashion empire to not only meet the designers, but also judge the runway competition. She also let the designers use her own fabrics to create the outfit. Since Diane has a longstanding partnership with American Express, the winning outfit will be sold exclusively to American Express customers.

Last night’s episode of Project Runway featured the much anticipated return of an actually complicated and innovative challenge. The producers may have thought the drag queen episode was a doozy but dressing a bunch of dudes in pleather and feathers is not that mind-bending. On last night’s episode, however, the designers were hauled off to a car warehouse where they were able to pillage Saturn’s warehouses for car parts to use as materials for their next design. This was definitely an opportunity for some of the designers who think they’re super innovative—ahem, Keith, ahem—to finally prove it with something other than swatches of fringe. Not-so-sadly or surprisingly, Keith couldn’t pull it off. And while his was hardly the only piece of crap to walk down the runway, we were pleasantly surprised by many of the designers’ creations. You heard it here first: Leanne is totally the dark horse who is going to win the whole she-bang. Her garment last night impressed even guest judge Rachel Zoe, who once dared to call herself more influential than Vogue‘s Anna Wintour.

Project Runway‘s Nina Garcia has this new book out called The One Hundred. In it, she shares all of the items she thinks fashionable women should own. Well, we got to thinking about some of the items in our lives that are indispensable even though they’re a little more random than LBDs, pearl necklaces, or jean jackets. Last night, Project Runway judge, current Elle editor-at-large, and soon-to-be Marie Claire fashion director Nina Garcia had a “discussion and book signing” at the Tribeca Barnes & Noble in New York. The audience was a mixed bag: at least 15 men, a few tween PR fans, a couple fashion risk-takers (the girl to my right had on a very Carrie Bradshaw pink tulle flower headband), and a number of middle-aged ladies who wore their un-highlighted hair pulled back in ponytails. Nina was wearing a black dress designed by none other than friend and fellow PR judge Michael Kors.

Now, Nina seems to have been a writing machine over last couple years, because her first book, The Little Black Book of Style came out just over a year ago, in September. Her new one, The One Hundred, includes illustrations by Ruben Toledo, though, so there’s not that much text, at least from what I could tell when I sneaked peeks at my fellow audience members’ copies.

On this week’s episode the designers were challenged to create an outfit for drag queens. Although this was a new challenge, not a recycle bin rescue from a previous season, I wasn’t really excited to watch it. I had a hard time figuring out why I should care.The best part of Runway for me is the fashion and this time it wasn’t fashion, but theatrics. And not haute couture theatrics that must convey a fashion aesthetic and drama. I get that the queens each have a character and their costumes must portray that character, but we learned very little about who these gals are. Sure, each of them had a catch phrase and a cool name, but there has to be more. I would have loved to learn how the queens get into drag because as guest judge RuPaul explained, “Drag is all smoke and mirrors.” But all we learned was that they stuff their bras, duh, and they must hide the “candy” (that is exactly what you think it is).
