Just when I had convinced myself that I actually enjoyed the first season of MTV’s “The City,” Lauren, Heidi, Spencer, Audrina, and the rest of “The Hills” crew are back, like the back-stabbing best friends I never had. The season premiere featured a tearful Heidi and Lauren reunion, and Spencer beating up a kid who dared to tell Heidi he saw Spencer hitting on a female bartender. And what’s this I see on the season teaser…?

It’s official—Lauren Conrad’s attempt at a fashion line has ended (at least for now). Delivery of Lauren Conrad Collection spring/summer merchandise has been canceled. We knew this line was doomed from the very beginning. She charged way too much for clothes made primarily of jersey, and most of her “designs” were unoriginal and boring. Anyone could recreate the looks with a quick search online or a mall run. Unfortunately, Lauren seems to think this failure is just a minor setback. She’s actually rethinking her line and might using higher-end fabrics. The fabrics aren’t the problem, LC. Maybe she’ll take a look at this list of other failed celebrity business ventures and reconsider. [Fashion Indie]

Celebs are fond of dual careers, especially careers that allow them to indulge their many “creative” endeavors—painting, music, fashion design, etc. But with the recent reveal of the cover for Lauren Conrad’s first chick lit novel, “L.A. Candy,” and the news that hot smarty pants, James Franco (he has a degree from Columbia), is working on a book of short stories, it seems “novelist” is the hot new resume addition for the rich and famous. But will Conrad and Franco’s novels be any good? My hunch is a resounding “no,” at least for Conrad’s effort, but I may be willing to give Franco a chance. Of course, they are hardly the first celebs to pick up a pen—after the jump, seven celebrity penned books that should be burned.

Season Five (probably the last) of “The Hills” starts soon and MTV has released a preview clip. Undoubtedly, these two minutes and 24 seconds are the most exciting moments of the entire season, so watch them now so you don’t have to waste time actually viewing the show! But a couple things to point out—that psychic at the beginning clearly reads Us Weekly, that’s how she knows so much about Lauren. Also, did Brody lose weight? And lastly, have Spencer and Heidi been photographed together lately? Maybe they really do break up…

Despite my sometimes strong aversion to “The Hills,” my DVR was totally set for last night’s showdown. Poor Audrina, hasn’t she had enough trouble with “bad boy” Justin Bobby? Now she hears that her best friend hooked up with him? But would Lauren ever touch someone she hates that much? Hmmm.  This was going to be a dramafest.

Women in the Western World have waged war against face fuzz because, let’s face it, facial hair on women is not sexy nor flattering, unless it’s a well-groomed brow. That’s why the best job the Bearded Lady could get was at a carnival. But there are some women (and men) who have embraced the female mustache. Whether you like the look or not, you have to admit that these women have a sort of attraction because they buck the beauty norm. Continue reading for women whose mustaches have gotten them noticed.

Last night’s episode of “The Hills” served two purposes—to make us psyched about next week’s big “ZOMG, Justin Bobby and Lauren Conrad hooked up?!” scandal, and to show that Justin Bobby does indeed have a softer side. In the clip above, he surprises Audrina with a gift! A t-shirt! So romantic! And he wants her to wear it “with no bra please, thank you.” Well, that was a step, at least, JB. When I was a child, two-finger, three-finger and four-finger rings were the height of fashion. What can I say? I grew up in the Bronx when hip-hop was definitely making its mark on fashion. My friends and I would make rings out of dollar bills and tape them together to create multi-finger rings. Now that Lauren Conrad was spotted wearing a two-finger name ring, designers have taken notice of this trend. Thankfully, all the rings aren’t iced out. Some are actually rather sophisticated and simple. And then others are truly playful and trendy. I wouldn’t advise spending a lot on one of these, unless you DIE for it like Rachel Zoe.
