We were positively puzzled when we saw this headline on Variety.com: “Jolie replaces Cruise in ‘Salt’.” According to the article, Angelina Jolie may take on the title role in Edwin A. Salt, a film about “a CIA officer who is accused by a defector of being a Russian sleeper spy and must elude capture long enough to establish her innocence.” Tom Cruise had wanted to play the role for a long time, but when his interest faded, and Jolie expressed her enthusiasm and the studio decided to rewrite the screenplay with a female lead (the title will also be changed). Now, we didn’t think Angelina and Tom had anything in common, except for the fact that they’re both half of high-powered Hollywood couples, but upon further inspection, we found that the two may have been separated at birth.

Some people start dating because they are so very similar. They have the same interests, background, education, taste in dogs, and favorite dessert. At last night’s MTV Movie Awards, there were lots of bad clothes. Personally, I think Ellen Page (winner of Best Female Performance) dressed quite appropriately for the event, wearing jeans and sneakers. Fancy dresses are not what the MTV Movie Awards should be about, especially if they’re short dresses. As Lindsay Lohan discovered, wearing a short dress while sitting in a movie theater means showing more leg than you may have planned. [MTV]

According to Star magazine, Tom Cruise really, really, really didn’t want wife Katie Holmes going to New York for three months to perform on Broadway—so he sent her to Scientology’s base in Hemet, California (known as “Gold Base”) for boot camp instead. “It included various tests, confession sessions, tons of reading and physically challenging purification processes,” a Scientology insider reveals. “Tom insists that auditing and purification practices are incredibly beneficial to Scientologists at all levels.”
