In proof that there is life after a big ol’ sex scandal, for the past few weeks, rumors have been swirling that a certain former New York governor with a taste for expensive call girls (that’s you, Eliot Spitzer) will be returning to politics and running for New York comptroller in 2010. But now, one of his frenemies says that if he runs, she’ll run, too. Kristin Davis is the madam who provided Spitzer with (advice columnist?) Ashley Dupre and other high-end prostitutes for years, to the tune of about $80,000. But when he got caught by wiretap arranging a liaison, Davis felt Spitzer was quick to tell the authorities her name. And she’s still pissed about it, after spending four months in Rikers. “I like to wreak a little havoc here and there. It’s ludicrous that Spitzer would even consider running for public office again, and even more ludicrous that New Yorkers would vote for him. But if he’s going to run, then so will I,” she said on her website. “His abuse of some of the women I arranged for him to spend time with raises serious questions about his character ... [My platform] highlights the inequities and sexism in our criminal justice system which penalizes women, minorities and poor people while wealthy, connected white men like Eliot Spitzer evade justice.” Who do you think would win in the showdown—Spitzer or Davis? Supposedly, disgraced former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer is considering another run for public office, and the mother of the call girl at the center of the scandal that brought down the “Love Gov” is speaking out. In an interview with the New York Post, Ashley Dupre‘s mother, Carolyn Capalbo, opined of Spitzer’s slow-but-steady career resurrection: “Only in America.” Dupre, in contrast, is “having a rough go”; surely, coming back from being outed as a sex worker who brought down a politician is no easy feat. A friend of Dupre pointed out that in this case the woman gets the short end of the stick: “The woman always ends up the filthy, marked whore and he ends up coming back the savior of politics.” Dupre may have gotten paid, but it seems she’s the one paying now. A call girl who worked for the same escort agency from which disgraced New York Governor Eliot Spitzer procured call girls and who saw Spitzer as a client is claiming that she serviced the needs of another unnamed governor. According to a New York call girl named “Annie,” described as an “elegant blond courtesan,” she met with “Gov. X” three times. The governor is married, and a representative told a reporter that Gov. X had never called upon a hooker for sexual services. Annie contends otherwise, claiming her former boss, ex-madam Kristin Davis, booked her with the unidentified governor through a man who went by “Michael.” He picked her up in a sports car, they all went to dinner, and then she and the governor went to an apartment that the agency maintained and had sex. “He was a very standard client. He didn’t take the full hour. There was no exchange of money. Michael handled the payment.” After several more dates, Annie found out the governor was married, and “His wife is quite prominent in her own right.” So, who is it? Gawker has a list of some possibilities. I’m putting my money on Pennsylvania governor Rendell, whose wife is a federal judge, but who knows. With jaws wagging, only time will tell. Nearly a year after news of Eliot Spitzer’s Hookergate scandal, new sordid details have been revealed. The New York Daily News reports that a second call girl, who goes by the name “Annie,” claims that Spitzer choked her as part of role-playing foreplay. S&M is nothing new, and New York’s erstwhile governor may not be the most shining example of conventional sexual appetites, but this account supports anecdotal evidence of a growing sexual trend. This Friday, Ashley Alexandra Dupre, the call girl whose hotel trist with then-New York governor Eliot Spitzer led to the sex scandal of the year, will appear on ABC’s “20/20” for a sit-down interview with Diane Sawyer. If Spitzergate went down six months ago, why is Dupre talking now? Last week, the state of New York declared it wouldn’t be pressing charges against the Love Gov, meaning it’s unlikely Dupre will be charged for her part in the scandal, which frees the former escort to make her case to the public. On the same day, a lengthy profile of Dupre will appear in People. In excerpts from the interviews posted online, it sounds like the 23-year-old is looking to make apologies and mend her ways.

Cities benefit big time when they host major events like the Olympics. The upcoming Republican and Democratic National Conventions are two such happenings that will bring in money to more than just the restaurant and hotel businesses. A rather disturbing ABC News article says that prostitution in Denver and Minneapolis will spike during the political conventions in the coming weeks. I’m a self-described reality TV junkie. I watch it all, including Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, Jon and Kate Plus Eight, America’s Next Top Model and I’ve recently taken up a new addiction to VH1’s I Love Money. But I have to say I’m less than excited about the reality show Ashley Dupre is reportedly developing. And now it seems she is looking for love and romance…or just more notoriety in the same fashion as A Shot At Love’s Tila Tequila. I guess I’m just totally sick of these celeb-reality stars thinking the American public is dumb enough to believe you can find love under the watchful eye of a production team. And I ask you, what exactly does Dupre have to offer in the ways of love? As far as I know, love has never been a job requirement of prostitution, although perceived romance has. Dupre would better serve society by developing an instructional reality show on how to make copious amounts of money with only a few hours of work. Getting Eliot Spitzer’s call girl, Ashley Dupre, on video was Girls Gone Wild CEO Joe Francis’ first order of business after his release from jail. However, once GGW realized they already had plenty of footage of her that they got for free, they retracted the offer.  It turns out that she appeared in videos for the franchise before she was a call girl—including one where she’s a teenager, topless, and drunk. Now she’s trying to sue GGW for $10 mil in damages, saying she was underage when they filmed her. Dupre is finding out the hard way, the number one rule is get the money first, then do the job. Though she may have been underage at the time, GGW does have footage of her consenting to being filmed and stating that she is 18, so who knows if her case will hold up in court. Either way, Francis is as big a dirt bag as ever, saying, “I think it’s ironic that she charged Governor Spitzer $2,000 for sex and she wants to charge me $10 million for taking some naked pictures of her…I feel like I’m getting a raw deal.” Gag.
