Ceaseless listmaker Forbes Magazine has rolled out yet another roundup and this one is about Hollywood’s most overpaid stars. Forbes’ peeps looked at how much each flick made compared to the celeb’s salary. We weren’t surprised to see that only one of the top 10 overpaid stars was a woman—Drew Barrymore. Obvs! Women have a lot of problems in this world, but getting overpaid is not one of them. Will Ferrell came in at numero uno because his last movie made a measly $3.29 for every dollar he was paid. While sitting in the theater enjoying “Whip It” last weekend (I know, took me forever, right?), I was very excited by the fabulous soundtrack. Can you say Jens Lekman, Dolly Parton and The Breeders? But my jaw dropped when I heard a song by Little Joy come on in the background, because Drew Barrymore, the star and director of the flick, used to date Fabrizio Moretti, one-third of the band. Who knew exes could be so supportive of each other? I find it endearing that Barrymore is promoting Moretti’s latest artistic endeavor. [Amazon]

Turns out, of course, this isn’t the first time a celebrity couple has publicly displayed their friendship after the flame burned out.

If your dress or top is looking a little plain, follow Drew Barrymore and First Lady Michelle Obama‘s lead by spiffing up an outfit with a sparkly brooch. Most of us only think of adding a pin to a jacket lapel, which looks cute, though a little businesslike. But adding a decorative piece to a simple dress—especially near the neckline—will make your outfit unique; in a sea of black cocktail dresses, you and your gems will stand out.

We were slightly baffled by Drew Barrymore‘s most recent dye job, but it didn’t last long. Earlier this week, Drew appeared on “Today” and her blond hair no longer had black ends. She had chopped them off. Now she has the same ‘do as before, only slightly shorter. And she’s been wearing it slicked back.

You know that Hulu commercial with Alec Baldwin where he’s an alien turning our brains to soft, goopy edible mush through the power of television on the internet? Somewhere there is a boardroom full of old men (or aliens) twirling waxed black mustaches and guffawing over the latest sales figures of the newest insipid feel-good rom-com. Well, hang onto your helmets and strap on your skates ladies, because “Whip It” is not that movie.

A few years ago, I heard a rumor about a female fight club on a college campus in North Carolina. I tried for months to find someone who was a member so that I could write a story about them, but I never got very far because, well, we all know the first rule of fight club. Turns out, I should have been talking to Drew Barrymore. In the new issue of Time Out New York, in addition to snapping some gorgeous photos of New York City, Drew sat down for an interview to talk about her directorial debut, the roller derby flick “Whip It.” Here’s what she had to say about the movie and the huge bruises all over her body.

“What I love about [roller derby] is that it’s real and high stakes. And by the way, it’s scary as sh*t to do. I wouldn’t have guessed that the first film I directed would have a sports element, but then again it doesn’t surprise me, because I love girls getting to do what boys do…We also had female fight club. We discovered at a bar one night that I definitely have that, like, feisty little boy inside of me, and when I drink he comes out.” [Time Out]

Once upon a time, Drew Barrymore was referred to as voluptuous, Posh Spice‘s bosom practically spilled out of her dress, and Lindsay Lohan suddenly had the biggest boobs in town. It seems like ages since any tabloid made a ruckus over yet another celeb getting breast implants, and, let’s face it, Hollywood has always had a thing for the well-endowed starlet. So, where have all the big breasts gone? Have huge chests gone out of style?

Yay! The trailer for Ellen Page’s newest movie, “Whip It,” is out and it looks ambrosia for any stifled suburban girl, even if you’ve never broken some chick’s collarbone in a roller derby. 

With Drew Barrymore, Kristen Wiig, Juliet Lewis, Eve and Ari Graynor (the drunk friend from “Nick And Norah’s Infinite Playlist”) all playing bad-ass roller skaters named Smashley Simpson, Dinah Might and Malice In Wonderland, how can you go wrong?

I’m a huge Drew Barrymore fan, and I simply adore Ellen Page. So, basically, “Whip It” is destined to be my next favorite movie. In this comedy about the roller derby, Page plays Bliss Cavendar, a 17-year-old who rebels against her mother’s pageantry wishes by joining a derby team called the Hurl Scouts. Yes, they wear demented Girl Scouts uniforms. With characters like Smashley Simpson, Babe Ruthless, Bloody Holly, and Maggie Mayhem (which is an ode to the screenwriter’s real-life derby name), this film is practically guaranteeing hilarity. And as for the name of the movie, “Whip It” has nothing to do with the Devo song—it’s actually a move used in the sport to get ahead of the pack.
