The Daily Hotness: James Franco

Some of you may remember James Franco from his breakthrough role on Freaks and Geeks, but I didn’t watch that show. Instead, I first noticed his brooding eyes and killer smile in Spider-Man, in which he played Harry Osborn. This summer he’s ditching his super villain persona to play a stoner in Pineapple Express, which comes out August 6. Even with long, greasy Bill & Ted hair he’s still hot, and I’d definitely spark a doobie with him, you know, if it was legal.

Yesterday Carlos Sastre claimed the maillot jaune, winning this year’s Tour de France. Finally! The man has finished in the top 10 in five of the last six years. [NY Times]

The Daily Hotness: David Duchovny

David Duchovny

Now that I am so used to him playing horny rabble-rousing a-hole Hank Moody on Californication, it’s easy to forget that there was once another role that David Duchovny was known for—Fox Mulder, from hit series The X-Files (the new film comes out this weekend). I have to admit, I wasn’t the hugest X-Files fan, despite being a total sci-fi nerd. I think it was too serious for me, and I like my aliens campy. But regardless, Mulder was hot. So hot, legions of horny men and women spent their free time writing Mulder/Scully erotic “fan fiction” (a truly nerdy hobby that I may or may not have engaged in myself) and posting it on the internet. Like this one!

The Daily Hotness: Estelle Getty

Estelle Getty

Estelle Getty, best known for playing Sophia on The Golden Girls passed away this morning at 84. Since Estelle was practically the patron saint of sassiness, we are extremely sad.

Even though she played perhaps the most memorable character on the show, Estelle had to audition three times before getting the part for which she won two Emmys. At 60, they thought she didn’t look old enough—and she technically wasn’t old enough, as she was a year younger than her on-screen daughter Bea Arthur. After the jump, a video of Sophia’s best one-liners from season one of The Golden Girls. [NPR]

The Daily Hotness: The Women Of Mad Men

Mad Men women

Mad Men is back on Sunday! It’s one of the few TV shows of true quality that I watch (though, crap, I really hope it’s time slot doesn’t conflict with Big Brother...). Anyway, while Jon Hamm does a mean job playing sexy ad exec Don Draper, the true stars of the show in our eyes (but clearly not the stinkin’ decision makers behind the Emmy nominations) are the female characters portrayed by Elizabeth Moss, January Jones, and Christina Hendricks. It seems kind of ironic that a show which portrays the sexist working conditions in corporate America in the 1960’s was honored only for its male cast members, but we digress. These women are hot not just in looks, but in talent. We can’t wait to see what havoc Betty Draper, Peggy Olson, and Joan Holloway will cause those boys in Season Two. [AMCTV.com]

The Daily Hotness: Aaron Eckhart

Aaron Eckhart at The Dark Knight premiere

In The Dark Knight, Aaron Eckhart plays Harvey Dent. Now, I haven’t seen the movie yet, but Harvey seems to try to steal Rachel Dawes from Bruce Wayne/Batman, at least that’s what I think from watching the trailer. For me, it would be an easy choice, but I guess Batman does have a lot of baggage. Aaron Eckhart, on the other hand, has really, really nice hair and teeth, and the latter form a handsome smile, so he’s got that going for him, even if he lacks a rubber suit and a cool car.

The Daily Hotness: Nas

Nas

Nas’s latest album was released today after much ado about the title. He ended up going with the subtle Untitled. Maybe he toned it down because the songs do the talking.

The Daily Hotness: Josh Brolin

Josh Brolin

Josh Brolin, who is currently filming W, a new Oliver Stone biopic about the Prez, can now never really be Commander-in-Chief—he was arrested over the weekend in Louisiana for getting in a bar brawl. Brolin has the finest mug shot we’ve ever seen. And there’s not a scratch on him from the scrape, just a cocky, sexy smirk.  Although normally, we Frisky gals don’t condone macho violence, we’ve got it bad for this good guy vigilante. Josh stepped in to defend one of the crew members who was being booked for public intoxication and things got a bit out of hand. Jeffrey Wright, who plays Colin Powell in the flick, plus five of the crew members, along with the two arresting officers were all taken into custody.  Brolin was already bailed out; meanwhile, we’re jealous we didn’t get to handcuff him. The Daily Hotness: Lupe Fiasco

Lupe Fiasco

Lupe Fiasco has an understated sexiness that’s part geek—he reads and spews Nietzsche—and part kick-ass—he earned his first black belt in karate by age 10 and is adept at firearms. You won’t find him showing off a muscle-ripped body or wearing labels across his chest, but he has totally perfected the nerd-chic style. And his stare alone will have you begging, “Tell me your inner-most thoughts.”

The Daily Hotness: Michael Phelps & Ryan Lochte

Ryan Lochte & Michael Phelps

You know the other thing I love about swimmers? Their little swimming briefs. They’ve really modernized the Speedo, haven’t they? Also, there is nothing sexier on a man’s body—especially if he is an Olympic swimmer like Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte—than that muscular V on their lower torso. There is a reason why this cover of the upcoming issue of Men’s Journal has been popping up on gay sites, you know what I’m saying? Check out Men’s Journal for more insanely hot photos from the issue.

The Daily Hotness: Rob Brown

Remember Jamal Wallace from Finding Forrester? Well, I had a big crush on him when that movie came out in ‘01. Rob Brown, the actor who played Jamal, has stayed fairly under the radar over the past few years despite appearing in movies like Coach Carter and Stop-Loss. Where was he all this time? Well, Rob was going to Amherst College. I was reminded of him when I came across his photo in Vanity Fair, where he’s lauded as one of Hollywood’s “New Wave.” You best believe I will be going to see his new football movie, The Express, when it comes out this October. In the above clip from an NFL.com video, Rob talks to Deion Sanders about the stunt doubles he had to have, despite playing football while he was at Amherst. Watch the full video at NFL.com.

The Daily Hotness: Josh Peck

Josh Peck

Kid stars, most of them make us run screaming past the cute years, but Josh Peck is an above-average boy, er, man.  The former “funny fat kid” and cast member of Nickelodeon hits like The Amanda Show and Drake & Josh, has shed the weight and his child-proof image to take on the role of a teenage pot dealer in indie flick The Wackness.  He even strips down for a shower sex scene—steamy! While Peck says a bad breakup before the film began shooting helped prepare him for the role, it seems like critics and moviegoers alike are already doing a pretty good job of stroking Josh’s…. ego. The Daily Hotness: Rafael Nadal

Rafael Nadal

I could honestly not give a poop about tennis, but I did go to a US Open game once and it was kind of amazing how hushed the crowd gets during a match—you can hear a pin drop, not to mention every grunt out of the players’ mouths. Anyway, I was kind of interested in Wimbledon this year though, mainly because I am so sick of reading about Roger Federer in Vogue and seeing him sitting front row at every fashion show because of the crush Anna Wintour has on him. I kind of hate a guy who always wins, except maybe Tiger Woods, because he is too sexy to hate. So when Rafael Nadal engaged in the battle to end all battles with Federer yesterday and managed to pull out a win, I was like, “Damn, that is one fine piece of chorizo.” He’s Spanish. Spanish sausage. Get it?

The Daily Hotness: Hunter Parrish

Hunter Parrish on Weeds

Hunter Parrish, who plays Silas Botwin on Weeds, will be taking on one of the lead roles in Spring Awakening on Broadway. Playing the role of Melchior, Hunter will get almost naked and simulate sex on stage, in addition to singing, of course. We can’t wait. [Queerty]

The Daily Hotness: Ryan Lochte

Ryan Lochte

My favorite part of the summer Olympics, well besides gymnastics and diving, is swimming. There is nothing hotter than a swimmer’s upper body—though I must confess I am grossed out by the fact that they have to shave ALL their body hair in order to swim faster. Everyone goes on and on about Michael Phelps and how he tied the World Record for some race and how he is probably going to be the most decorated athlete in Olympics history, but it’s Ryan Lochte who caught my eye during the Olympic Trials this past weekend. First of all, he doesn’t have that gross, thick swimmer’s neck; second, he totally kept up with Phelps during the race in which Phelps tied the World Record, coming in only a millisecond or something behind him; third, he didn’t wax his armpit. Woohoo!

The Daily Hotness: Daniel Craig, Plus The Quantum Of Solace Trailer

Daniel Craig

The trailer for Quantum of Solace, the new James Bond film, has finally arrived. Daniel Craig is back as Bond, and is on a revenge mission. He makes revenge extremely sexy and I, for one, am seriously hot for the morose, brooding Bond, as opposed to the debonaire, sleek, party boy that Pierce Brosnan portrayed. Anyway, check out the trailer, after the jump…

The Daily Hotness: Wall-E

Wall-E

I’m so excited to see the new Pixar film, Wall-E, so it better not disappoint. That would be like having a crush on someone, and then finding out they’re not half as cool as you thought they were. I have a huge crush on Wall-E. [Wall-E Trailer]

The Daily Hotness: Anonymous Male Model

Active Endeavors model

Today, while I was researching images for a slideshow, I came across this fine specimen modeling clothing on the site ActiveEndeavors.com. I immediately fell in love. Then I sent his picture to Catherine who said she was in love too. Then we fought over him and tore each other’s hair out and scratched and stuff, but neither of us came out the winner because we don’t know who he is. He’s fine though, huh? Further proof that you don’t need a personality or a job or a brain or a name to be considered HOT.

The Daily Hotness: Matthew Tully from Shear Genius

Matthew Tully from Shear Genius

Yesterday, I attended a promotional event for the second season of the Bravo show Shear Genius – and contestant Matthew Tully gave me a blow-out! It was the best I’ve ever had and while I sat in the chair we chatted about the show. He said that everyone else in the house got along, but he was kind of the outcast. Instantly this made me like him more. Matthew couldn’t reveal the winner of the show, obviously, but my fingers are crossed that it’s him, because everyone else on the show looks catty, like they’d beat you over the head with a flat iron to get to the top.

The Daily Hotness: Graham Bunn

Graham Bunn

Despite my avid coverage of The Bachelor a few months ago, I have not been blogging (or watching!) The Bachelorette. That’s because I tend to think The Bachelorette is boring and way cheesier than The Bachelor—the men are not nearly as big of train wrecks as the ladies and it makes me uncomfortable watching them act like cheeseballs. But I’ve been informed that I’ve missed out on at least one bright spot on The Bachelorette—Graham Bunn (nice name!), who went home on last night’s episode. He’s obviously way hot, but he’s more than just good looks. Our friend Kim says she thinks Graham mainly went on the show to bring awareness to his charity, The Brightside Fund which aims to aid disadvantaged youth in America. Your loss, Bachelorette!
