Being a girly girl gets a bad rap. But as women across the globe can attest, our female frills aren’t just for show—lookin’ this good can actually save your life. Last week, we told you all about a woman whose cash stuffed bra took a bullet for her. Talk about a bodyguard. And she’s not the only woman whose been saved by her girly stuff recently. Here are some amazing true stories.

A 40-year-old Japanese man named Tatsuhiko Kawata has been sentenced to five years in jail for having cold feet and a cold, cold heart. Kawata, who had been married since 1994, started cheating on his wife three years ago with another woman whom he agreed to marry last October at the Risonare hotel. Still married to the first wife, Kawata tried to delay the wedding on the eve of the ceremony by dumping petrol in the hotel and setting it on fire!  Thankfully, no one was hurt, and the woman Kawata was set to merry dodged a bullet, too. The presiding judge who sentenced Kawata called him “egoistic and short-sighted.” Guess we need to add a #10 to our Signs He’s A Cheater post: He carries a can petrol around with him and sets a hotel on fire. Wow, some people really will do anything to get laid. In Australia, a particularly desperate man broke into an adult toy shop to have sex with blow-up doll. Apparently, he smashed the store windows and, um, squeezed through the tight hole. The shop owner say this isn’t the first time he’s broken into the shop and had his way with their merchandise, claiming there’s been at least one unreported break-in before this. “He has been taking the dolls out the back and blowing them up and using the dolls and leaving them in the alley,” he reported. Specifically, he’s been “using” a doll named “Jungle Jane,” which he’s stolen on both occasions. And if that isn’t enough of a gross-out image for you, consider this: the burglar “also had the ‘weird’ habit of cleaning up the mess he had made after entering the building.” Thankfully (?), he didn’t clean up nearly well enough; traces of DNA were left on the doll to help police track him down. “It is a real concern that someone like that is out on the street,” the shop owner said. An Australian woman appeared in court today on a murder charge after allegedly setting fire to her husband’s genitals because she believed he was having an affair. Prosecutors said that Rajini Narayan, 44, told neighbors she had only wanted to burn her husband’s penis “so it belongs to me and no one else.” Talk about a crime of passion! You might think that crimes associated with male genitalia are rare, but in fact, they’re quite common. After the jump, six penis-related crimes from the last year.
