Crave: Madonna “Celebration” T-Shirt (Win One!)

Madonna has been a part of our life basically since we were born. We didn’t listen to her as babies, of course, but back in the ‘80s when we came into the world, the original pop star had already begun to make the music we’ve been enjoying since we got our first Walkman. Madonna’s greatest hits album, Celebration, hit stores this week, and it’s got all the good stuff on there – from “Papa Don’t Preach” to “4 Minutes” featuring Justin Timberlake and Timbaland. Put on one of these shirts that hearken back to Madge’s earlier days, throw on a few black jelly bracelets and maybe a rosary necklace, then gyrate around to your favorite tune. [Celebrate/Madonna, iTunes]

We’re giving away five Madonna Celebration T-Shirts, but you have to work if you want the Material Girl in your closet. The five best commenters for this coming week—from today, Friday, Oct. 2 through Thursday, Oct. 8—will be awarded with one. So, be as clever, smart, and original as you can! Crave: Steve Madden “Cuddless”  Booties

steve madden booties

Sometimes you have to wonder where on earth designers come up with their product names. For example, this Steve Madden model is called the “Cuddless,” which apparently merits this description: “Dreamy heels that call for more then a one night stand! Cuddle the night away in these all suede shoes.” (Hmm ...maybe “Cuddless” was a spelling error?) But now that we think about it, we do kind of want to snatch up these shoes and hold them close to our hearts. We love the neutral gray color that lets the simplified ruffle detail stand out to give a basic bootie a fashion upgrade. Or, maybe according to Steve Madden, we should be calling these bootays. [$149.95, Steve Madden]

Crave: Heather Hawkins Concho Rivet Trinity Wrap Bracelet (Get 20% Off!)

Heather Hawkins Concho Rivet Trinity Wrap Bracelet

We don’t hide the fact that we’re really girly girls. We like makeup, braids, and dresses. Sometimes, though, we want to toughen up our sweet image without going too far off the deep end. This Concho Rivet Trinity Wrap Bracelet with its round studs will add a little goth or biker chick to our girliest ensembles. The bracelet comes in black and gray, as well as berry, emerald, and saddle yellow, so it has the feel of a studded Hermès bracelet (without the crazy price tag) rather than one from Hot Topic. [$98, Heather Hawkins]

Heather has been kind enough to offer Frisky readers 20 percent off EVERYTHING on her online store for two weeks (Sept. 30 at 4 p.m. EST to Oct. 14 at 4 p.m. EST). Simply enter the discount code FRISKY at checkout.

Crave: BB Dakota Marsh Jacket

Short-Sleeved Military Jacket

Fall fashion gets a little ho-hum—another cardigan, anyone?—which is why we’re ordering this short-sleeved military jacket by BB Dakota, stat. Unlike other military jackets, it’s not made of long or bulky fabric which covers up your body. Nor does it scream “nautical trend!” which was so last season anyway. We dig any piece in our closet that is demure enough for the office but still funky enough to wear on a night out.  [$70, Revolve Clothing]

Crave: Roper Ingredients T-Shirt

Roper Ingredients T-Shirt

Even though message tees are so passé, you can still show people what you’re made of, literally. The “Ingredients” T-shirt by U.K.-based graphic designer and illustrator Roper lists all the elements that make up the human body. We never considered that we were made of silver and gold, but we guess it’s possible to inhale or ingest particles without realizing it. Isn’t geek chic fun! [$27.73 for the American Apparel T-shirt, MySoti]

Crave: Names And Notes Napkin Rings

names and notes napkin rings

Back-to-school blues? Satisfy your nostalgia with something both classic and reusable like these Names and Notes napkin rings, which are like mini-chalkboard place cards. Outfitted with a layer of black matte paint, the set of four comes with a white pencil for writing the names of your dinner party guests and an eraser sponge (clean slate, clean plate?). Or, you could use these doodads to discreetly pass notes (“Do you like me? Circle one: Yes, No”). We’d try decorating our table with white and black plates to match. [$58 for four, Gessato.com]

Crave: Trash & Luxury “Glamour Is The Drug” Tee

Glamour Is The Drug

We’ve never advocated actual drug use on The Frisky. (Seriously, have you ever read Valley Of The Dolls? Not fetching.) But the idea of a glamour drug completely intrigues us. Imagine not having to spend all that time gluing on false eyelashes and coloring your lips bright red! So we’re digging this “Glamour Is The Drug” shirt with big Rolling Stones lips, which looks like the perfect tee to wear under one of this fall’s hip leather jackets. You might even say we find its awesomeness totally addictive. [$39, Revolve Clothing]

Crave: “Kids’ Letters To President Obama” Book

kids letters to barack obama book cover

Lately, the politicos have been hitting President Obama with a lot of criticism, and it seems everyone would like to tell our president what to do: “Don’t eat junk food. Junk food makes you fat”; “I know you want to save the earth, but people don’t want to clean”; “You should not smoke when you are president! Because you will die by smoking, and then you will not be president!”

Well, at least, that’s what America’s kids have to say to him, and they do so every day by sending thousands of letters to the White House. Kids’ Letters to President Obama, edited by Bill Adler, compiles 200 of some of the more hilarious notes. Read some selections on McSweeney’s, like our favorite so far:

“Dear President Obama,
I want to tell you hi. Do you work with Santa Claus? Can I meet you in your house? Can I say bye to you after I meet you? And then can I meet you again? And then again after that?

Sergio Magana, age 5
San Francisco”

Cracking up yet? [$15, Barnes & Noble]

Crave: Marc By Marc Jacobs Animal Charm Bangles

marc by marc jacobs bracelets

Want a piece of Marc Jacobs style that won’t cost you your firstborn child? This set of Marc by Marc Jacobs bangles sells for less than 100 bones, and they actually strike us as the grown-up version of something we would have worn as a kid. The five bracelets feature cute crystal owls, apples, and mice affixed to thin gold-plated bands. There’s also one with a signature MJ heart on it—because sometimes the point of wearing a label is to have people know you’re wearing it, right? [$88, Shopbop]

Crave: Tsubo Hepti Heels (Win A Pair!)

Tsubo Hepti Shoe

We find the word “shootie” (a combination shoe-bootie) deplorable. Can we stop with the made-up names, already? But the footwear itself is pretty cute. Like Tsubo’s Hepti heels, which have an understated design and come in this unexpected color pairing. Seriously, how often do you see a shoe in olive gray that’s lined in pale neon green? The supple suede is highlighted by curved ribbing along the back and heel, but no element of the shoe outshines the others. The Hepti is a complete package that gets attention without having to scream, “Look at me!” We’ll wear them with long, fluid pants in a coordinating tweed or with tights in a similar olive green and a dress or skirt. [$145, Tsubo]

We’re giving five readers a pair of Tsubo’s Hepti Heels (which haven’t even hit their website yet!), but you have to work if you want your feet to look good. The five best commenters for this coming week—from today, Friday, Sept. 18 through Thursday, Sept. 24—will be awarded with a set. So, be as clever, smart, and original as you can! Crave: Forever 21 Knit Jacket

forever 21 knit jacket

When the weather turns crisp, style obsessions turn to fall coats. However, thanks to this Forever 21 design, we’re now finding the idea of the non-coat sexier for in-between weather. The heather grey color, piping, and hefty waist tie make this knit sweater-coat look like a designer number you’d see on chic Fashion Week attendees. Rock it with some biker-esque platform pumps, black cigarette jeans, and huge sunglasses to get that fashion editor vibe. Once the weather gets too cold, make it a casual indoor staple. Crave: Swatch Bunny Sutra Watch

Swatch Bunny Sutra Watch

If you’ve ever heard someone’s snicker followed by a mumbled “... yeah like rabbits” and rolled your eyes, well, roll your eyes no more. At first glance this Bunny Sutra Watch looks like another snazzy Swatch watch to add to your collection. Upon investigation, you’ll find that these cute and cuddly bunnies aren’t so innocent – they’re engaging in some rather interesting positions. Trust us: You will definitely know what time it is from now on. The only snag is that after its massive sellout on the Swatch site you may have to do a bit of surfing to find a good deal. Crave: Kairos Anti-Acne Hair Care Trio

Kairos Anti-Acne Hair Care Trio

Back in the day when we had severe acne, our dermatologist would tell us to keep our hair off our faces after he prescribed topical meds and antibiotics. We walked around with a ponytail for about two weeks before realizing that if we stopped using pore-clogging hair products we could let our hair down. Too bad Kairos’ Acne Care hair care line wasn’t around then because it could have helped us fight acne while keeping our hair looking perfect. The trio of products includes shampoo, conditioner, and an oil-clearing treatment, but Kairos also sells styling gel, hair spray, and hair glue that promise to pull double duty—healthy hair and clear skin. Crave: Ha-Yeon Lee Stirrup Rings

Just like two heads are better than one, two rings are too. Which is why we’re loving these “stirrup rings” by Ha-Yeon Lee. They feature two gold vermeil circles attached by a delicate silver chain. Wear one on your ring finger, and one on your index, letting the strand drape over your hand. Or, wear both on the same finger to create a hanging loop. Perfect for the equestrian set, or those who like to keep it together. [$153.44, Kabiri]

Crave: Clocky Alarm Clock

clocky alarm clock

Your average morning goes something like this:

7:20 a.m.: Beep beep beep!
7:21 a.m.: Snooze
7:30 a.m.: Beep beep!
7:31 a.m.: Snooze, motherf**ker.
7:33 a.m.: Wonderful dream in which you and Jake Gyllenhaal are on a deserted beach, and he looks at you intensely, cups your chin, leans in and—beep beep!!!—oh, come on! You have got to be kidding.

Looks like you need a more effective morning routine. Check out Clocky, an alarm clock that only gives you one chance to get up. When it goes off, Clocky’s wheels start rolling. Position him on your nightstand so that he falls right into your bed. He can also roll off your bedside table, but then he’ll look for a place to hide, should you decide you need some extra time with Jakey.
