OK, I kind of have to give it up for the headline “Harry Pothead.” Today’s cover of London’s Daily Mail featured a big old photo of Daniel Radcliffe, his face painted, puffing on what they claim is a joint. The shot was taken at a party held at his sometime-girlfriend’s apartment, and a fellow party-goer totally narc-ed on him. “Daniel was laughing and seemed to find it funny,” she said. “But he didn’t really look like he knew what was going on.” Daniel’s camp is, of course, rushing to his defense. “We categorically deny the allegations regarding Daniel Radcliffe published in today’s Daily Mirror,” his publicist said. “Daniel does smoke the occasional roll-up cigarette, but he was not doing anything more than this.” [People]
Daniel is far from the first celebrity to supposedly be caught on camera doing drugs. Here are 13 others.

Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t believe that Any of them were actually doing drugs. After all they are just actors and actresses, aren’t they?

The media have bought into the rhettoric that continues to make marijuana a Schedule A narcotic in the US. They say it is a gate way drug and then they make it so by creating the prophecy themselves. Telling kids over and over again that weed is just as bad as crack or meth. Most kids will try weed at some point and then think that crack or meth is just as harmless since they have been indoctrined since birth to believe they are the same.

@equnsuocha: FDA just recommended lowering the schedule level last week. They want to use it for research now….only took 72 years.

@CheeeeEEEEse yeah I am hoping the legalization across the board happens next year. There is great support for it and I was surprised at how close I was in estimating the tax revenue, I thought about $2 billion and they are saying $1.5 Billion, either way once the other states get a gander at the cash they are making here in Cali it will only be a matter of time before they jump in and the Feds come looking for their share.

@equnsuocha: Nationwide, 44% favor legalization. I think it’s 54 in California. I fear that the old people will come out in droves to vote it down though, that’s what they do in my NJ town whenever a school budget comes up.

@equnsuocha- at my school, Tom Riley (spokesman for the National Drug Control Policy office- I wouldn’t have known that name otherwise) debated Ted Carpenter (cato institute’s VP for Defense and Foreign Policy Studies) about the pros and cons of drug prohibition.
One of my very pro-marijuana legalization friends stood up to ask why marijuana is still a Schedule A drug, and in the true political spirit, the question was completely, totally evaded and no amount of attempted interruption was going to change that.

i hope it stays illegal. i’ve never done it and i never will. but it will probably become legal and then we will get to enjoy not only drunk drivers but more people probably doing or starting pot and then deciding to drive too….oh i’m so looking forward to it….I just hope that people use common sense…
