First Female Designs For Nike Air Jordan

Vashtie Kola, a video director, artist, and style maven, had to keep a huge secret for a long time, but now the cat’s out of the bag: Kola, a self-proclaimed “Jordan rocking fool,” is the first woman to design a Nike Air Jordan for the ubiquitous brand. She had the female sneaker heads in mind as she designed the Ladies’ Air Jordan 2 Retro. Get the details on the design of the sneaker and see another photo of the slammin’ shoe after the jump. Cute = A Puppy + Shoes

Here’s proof that it doesn’t take much to make a cute video and have people drool over it online. Step one: Take cute pug dog. Step two: Put cute pug dog next to cute shoes. Step three: Set video to cute music. Step four: Watch and emit your inevitable “awww!” [I Love You Magazine] Keep reading »

Wellies For Shorties?

Wellington makes wedge rain boots? Sweet. Now we can look classy and stay tall during a rainy morning commute. Although, we’re still holding out for the Wellington stiletto. Or the Willetto, if you will. [Asos]

Should Have Seen It Coming: The Clog Boot

Clogs came back. And they’ve yet to go away. We were slow to accept the clunky ’90s footwear, but have gradually learned to accept their place in the trend-o-sphere (and possibly in our closets). When we spotted these high heel clog boots on Asos, however, we did a full-on whaaa? The clog plus boot, eh? So what would you call these? Cloogs? Blogs? (Oh wait, no, that’s something else.) So here you have it, people: Cloogs. We should have known something like this would happen, but now we’re fully prepared for the next onslaught of clog-like footwear, including Clumps, Cligettos, Clogfoms, and Clog-Clops.

What do you think of Cloogs? We have to admit, we’d probably come around if they were styled with something hot. [Asos] Keep reading »

Jobs I Would Like To Have: Mini-Pony Shoe Designer

As I’ve mentioned before, my spirit animal is a mini-pony. There are two reasons for this: 1) They are super cute. 2) They are really short — and I’m really short, so I feel like we would get along. But! Aside from being my personal power animal, mini-ponies provide a valuable service to society — they are guide horses to the blind! That’s right, mini-ponies help fill the current shortage of guide animals. The Guide Horse Foundation of America can tell you everything you need to know about working with guide horses, including the fact that many of these darling mini-ponies opt to wear shoes on their tiny hooves for all the terrific work they do. This Is The Stuart Weitzman “Blog” Pump

A few days ago, bloggers made a huge to-do about clothing website ModCloth’s “Blog Writer Dress.” Thing is, the general consensus is that we work-from-home bloggers either wouldn’t dress in the child-like pinafore style, or have a dedicated uniform of sweatpants or no-pants. (Although, personal offenses aside, wasn’t it pretty obvious what ModCloth was doing? Naming a dress just so bloggers would draw attention to it?) Anyhow, we’ve now discovered that shoe designer Stuart Weitzman has a “Blog” pump. We’re not sure what Weitzman is trying to say with this style name, but if the product description is stereotyping bloggers who prefer comfort over aesthetics (“A modern round-toe pump, with a bit more heel for height without sacrificing comfort”), then it does so with much more subtlety.
