What Not To Say To A Madam

It’s not every day you come across a bona fide madam.

But Susan Austin is exactly that. She resurrected The World Famous Mustang Ranch, the first and oldest legal brothel in America, in 2007. The crazy, earlier days of the bordello are the subject of the film “Love Ranch,” which comes out later this month.

Austin served as a consultant on the film and also talked to us about her unusual profession. More specifically, the comments that folks who aren’t schooled in the intricacies of the sex trade tend to make to her over and over again.

If you happen to find yourself in a (totally legal) house of ill-repute, these are the 10 things you should try to avoid saying to the lady in charge: Read more Keep reading »

Dear Wendy Updates: “You’re A Know-It-All”

Yesterday, I posted an open call for emails from people I’ve given (published) advice to here in the past to let me know whether they followed my advice and/or the advice from commenters, and how they’re doing today. I expected I might hear from people who didn’t like what I had to say, as well as from those who did. I’ve gotten a lot of grief for some of the advice I’ve given, and occasionally — not very often, but sometimes — I’ll have second thoughts about something I’ve said … or the way I’ve said it. Never has this been more the case than with the person you’ll hear from after the jump. She hated my “advice,” and rightfully so. We had some back-and-forth email exchanges afterward in which I said some more things I now regret. I ended up apologizing, but judging from the email she sent yesterday, she’s still pissed. Anyway, it was a learning lesson for me and for that I thank her. I’ve tried to be less presumptuous while still telling it like I see it and doling out “tough love” when it seems necessary, but sometimes I make mistakes. I’m human; it happens. After the jump, check out one of my biggest missteps. Keep reading »

Can Science Fix Your Orgasm?

Is there a logical explanation as to why women can’t climax consistently or (in some cases) ever during sexual intercourse? Can a pill, patch, cream, or (gulp) vaginal collagen injection, morph a frigid woman into one who orgasms with male consistency?

The answer: Nobody knows. Naturally. But that hasn’t stopped science, bless its heart, from trying. But should they? A recently released documentary, “Orgasm Inc.,” begs ladies to think twice before assigning themselves to “female sexual dysfunction” a disorder companies are attempting to treat with a variety of fix-its. Director Liz Canner questions whether or not FSD even exists, and advises women proceed with caution. Regardless, below is a quick round-up of some ways the men and women in white lab coats have attempted to tinker and tweak the female libido to reach its full potential. Keep reading »

How To Hook Up During The World Cup

Around World Cup time, babelicious European, South American, Australian, African, and Asian dudes pack bars to watch the games. American men don’t care about soccer, but maybe they’re just afraid to be in the bar at the same time as all the hunks who do. So girl, if you like guys with accents and ripped, sweaty men duking it out on TV, soccer just might be the sport for you! I’ve already told you how to hook up at a wedding, on Valentine’s Day, on Halloween, on July 4th, on Thanksgiving, on Christmas, and on New Year’s Eve … but there is one more bang-tastic event and it only comes around every four years — the height of soccer season and it starts today. If you want to play the field during the World Cup, here’s how you can really score! Keep reading »

Dear Wendy: “How Can I Ask For A Threesome?”

I’m in a wonderful relationship with a great man that I plan on marrying one day. I’m 20 and he’s 26, but it’s not our age difference that’s the problem. You see, I have this fantasy of being with more than one guy at once. I’m not a whore, slut, hooch or any of that business. It just turns me on to be treated like a sex toy. The only issue is I have no idea how to bring it up with my boyfriend, whom I’m madly in love with, and I’m not sure how he would react. It’s not that he’s not enough for me; I think he’s absolutely amazing in bed. I’m just super curious and would like to try once. How would you advise I bring this up with him? — Curious

Before You Try New Sex Moves, Talk To Your Guy

Whether they are from magazines, websites, or our friends, we are constantly hearing sex tips that are supposed to make our men go wild in bed. Some of these sex tips should never be tried, ever. However, some of them can be done, just not without consulting your partner first. Whether you’re with a serious boyfriend, a new guy, or a one-night stand, these sex tips are never a good surprise. While discussing a finger in his butt, using your teeth during a blow job, biting his nipples, how hard to hold him, or if he wants a rim job may feel awkward over dessert, doing these things without warning (and a green light!) might lead to an even more uncomfortable interaction.

There is nothing wrong with trying new things in bed, but to ensure that you don’t create an “Oh God, did that just happen?!” moment between you and your man, give him a heads-up before trying these five sex moves. Keep reading »
