Ted Haggard Coming To A Television Near You

In 2006, Ted Haggard was one of the most powerful ministers in the United States—he was the head of the enormous New Life Church in Colorado and the leader of the National Association of Evangelicals, which boasted 30 million members. And then, in a major sex scandal, a male prostitute outed Haggard, saying that not only had Haggard paid him for sex, but that he had bought and done crystal meth. Let’s just say that Haggard’s days at the New Life Church were numbered from there. So I am pretty pumped to see that TLC is airing a special that’s basically “Ted Haggard: How Haggard Is He Now?” Keep reading »

“Hellcats” Cram Session: The Internet Sure Loves Racy Cheerleader Photos

Bust out your pom-poms, ‘cause tonight is “Hellcats” night! Since The Frisky’s own Kate Torgovnick happens to be an expert on college cheerleading—after all, the show is based on her book, CHEER!: Inside the Secret World of College Cheerleaders—every Wednesday we have her sound off on how the show stacks up to reality.

Tonight on “Hellcats,” naked pics of squad co-captain Alice are leaked on the interwebs and quickly became the most-viewed pages on Lancer University campus. So how realistic is this plot? When dirty photos of her ended up online in 2007, she quickly became the most Googled name of the week. Keep reading »

Vikings QB Brett Favre Accused Of Sending Lewd Texts To Women

I’m a little slow on the uptick here because I couldn’t care less about football players and their weenies. But! Some of you may have heard that Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre, a married man, might have been a naughty boy. Two years ago, when he played for the New York Jets, Favre allegedly sent photos of his penis to a former Jets sideline reporter and model/actress named Jenn Sterger, after contacting her through MySpace and leaving her voice mails asking to come to her hotel.

Jenn Sterger, who is no longer with the Jets either, has not spoken publicly about the alleged incidents. In fact, voicemails and pictures from Favre were made public by a third party, which the sports blog Deadspin.com purchased. Sterger has not filed a formal sexual harassment complaint — yet. Decrowned Miss USA Leona Gage Dies At 71

Leona Gage, the OG of beauty pageant scandalites, died this weekend of heart failure. So what’s her story? In 1957, Leona was crowned Miss USA only to have her title stripped days later. The scandal? That she was married and had two children. Well, I never! Actually, the story is pretty juicy—Leona claimed to be 21 on her pageant forms but was actually 18. She’d gotten married at age 14 and had her second baby at 16. After the Miss USA scandal, she became a regular on late night television, appearing on “The Ed Sullivan Show” and several others. And we think tabloid culture is a new thing? [NY Daily News] Keep reading »
