Poll: Would You Wear Underwear-Revealing Sheer Clothes?

This week two Gossip Girls went out in public with their bras visible for all the world to see. Leighton Meester attended a Katy Perry concert in a floral dress that revealed her bra and boy shorts, while Taylor Momsen sported a black bra under her bright pink dress at a performance with her band, The Pretty Reckless.
Sheer clothes seem to be trying to make a comeback, and not just among women. At the most recent men's shows of Givenchy and John Galliano, mesh and translucent tops went down the runways. And, now that Leighton and Taylor have showed us their bras, could see-through tops soon become as ubiquitous as bow headbands?

Going to be honest, not only do I want to keep my bra and panties to myself, I’d also like to keep my tummy fat to myself. Those are both slender women, so they don’t have to worry about people seeing their ‘fat’. After I give birth and lose the baby weight my answer might change but for now, no one but me, my bf and my doctor need know how much belly fat I have.

Haven’t these celebs heard of nude-colored bras? Granted, if something is sheer enough, even that may be visible, but it’s a far cry away from showing off a black underwear set.

I see outfits like that all the time around Southern California (not just on the beach with swimsuit coverups, as expected). I personally wouldn’t wear that out to dinner, but it would be less shocking to me to see someone in Taylor Momsen’s outfit around a beach town than in NYC, for example.
I guess that’s because what I feel comfortable wearing in a certain area tends whatever the status quo happens to be, and out here, wearing less is pretty common.

The reason I voted on the “What’s the big deal about showing people your bra and underwear as long as they’re not holey?” is because sometimes thing just show, especially my bra straps or a part of my bra. It just happens, and I don’t really care. It’s not that I intentionally show it off, but it happens, and I don’t care what anyone thinks of that. Of course, I fix it when it happens, but I just learn to embrace it.
