Poll: Are You Dressing Up For Halloween?

Comments (10) Bookmark and Share

dog in devil Halloween costume In case you recently woke up from a coma and haven't noticed the bags of candy, carved pumpkins, or costume talk, Halloween is tomorrow. For some, Oct. 31 is the best holiday of the whole year because they get to play dress-up as a grownup. Others hibernate at home in an attempt to avoid drunk vampires, slutty nurses, and possible serial killers. Will you be donning a costume for Halloween?

I wouldn’t say that I’m too old, but costume prices are ridiculous and the only choices for women seem to be whore-y or a witch.  You can’t just be a nurse you have to be a “sexy” nurse and all the costumes seem to have thigh-highs and chunky heels…tacky. I guess I could try to come up with something, but I’m just too lazy, so I skip the dressing up.

Halloween is my favorite holiday and I’m pretty bummed that I’m not doing anything this year. It’s not that I’m too old or anything like that, it’s just that everyone I know lives 4 states away and it would be pretty awkward asking my next door neighbors if I could borrow their kid to go trick or treating…

I’m happy I get to dress up this year, because some years it doesn’t work out. I’m going as Kara Thrace/Starbuck from “Battlestar Galactica”. I prefer to make my costume from things I find at Goodwill, because the ones they sell in stores are so cheaply made. Plus, it’s less expensive.

Last year, my now-husband and I went as Dwight and Angela from “The Office”; I had the tackiest cat sweater on (also found at Goodwill), and it was awesome. smile

I do not get to dress up this year.  I am taking my 9-year-old out instead.  She pretends to be a cowgirl and calls herself Calamity Jane, so she decided to put on the boots and spurs and be a cowgirl.  Then my Grandma scolded me and told me Calamity Jane was a prostitute.  Oops.

No Halloween for me this year.  I have been way too busy and stressed out to even think about dressing up and going out.  It didn’t re-dawn on me that Saturday was Halloween until this morning :p

I was going to dress up today for work, lol. My costume got ruined though :( but i’ll find something in my closet and end up being Elvira tomorrow. I’ve been feeling a bit blah, because I used to celebrate Halloween Fri,SAt,Sun. Now I dont feel like doing anything, I feel so pressured to do something just because “im young” lol. Its kind of driving me nuts.

I’d like to, but the only reason to actually leave the house would be to hit the bars, which is really boring if you don’t have friends to hang out with and aren’t looking to hook up.

I’m going to a horror convention next weekend, though, and I’d like to drag queen it up and go as my favorite horror movie villain, Dr. Herbert West of Re-Animator.

I’m too poor/lazy to get a costume.  I do, however, have a reflective vest in my closet.  Maybe I’ll be a crossing guard.  :shrugs:
