Yes, There Is Now A Snuggie For Dogs

I mean, it was only a matter of time. Amelia spotted this “Snuggie For Dogs,” and the best thing about the infomercial (after the jump, as the video auto plays) is not only the prize-winning script, but also the fact that it is REAL. The sales pitch is so similar to the human Snuggie ad copy that it’s scary. Just like the argument that your hands will freeze and fall off lest you take them out of your boring old sleeveless blanket to reach for the remote, your dog needs a Snuggie because, let’s face it, he “needs to go out, but it’s a cold night. A pet sweater could help, but they pull and they’re tight!” So true, so true. Then again, we might just buy one for the free gift with purchase: a dog tag that “speaks” for your pet. We’re dreaming of recording ones in the voices that our dogs actually speak in. In our own heads. You guys do that with your pets, right? Right? [Snuggie For Dogs]

Seriously, auto-play videos are annoying.  Stop it.

“How do you keep your dog warm when they’re feeling a chill?”

How about… fur.

I call animal abuse! Kudos to the “garageband app” music!

I was just making fun of this to my co-worker, and she’s like “oh I’ve had them for all my dogs”.  Oh.  Really?  Um, ok.

I need to get one of these for my dog. Because of the soft fleece, which she can surely feel through her thick coat of fur.

Anyway, fine, these keep their front legs and torsos warm, but what about their poor little doggie asses and little doggie hind legs? And what this really makes me feel bad for are wolves and sled dogs. Poor things… out there in the wild with not a Snuggie around. How do they survive?

I need to go get a dog right now so that I can buy it a snuggie and then I will have a matching one and then we will walk around the neighborhood in our matching snuggies and then omg.

@likeOMGkbye:Like, OMG, it’d be so awesome if we lived near each other and Bachelorette Jillian so we could, like, be walking our dogs and see her and we’d be all like “OMFG! It’s Jillian from the Bachelorette! That’s, like, so wicked awesome except that, you know, you like don’t know how to tell losers from not-so-losers” and she’d be all, like, “lols, you’re so right, but anyway, what do you like on your hot dogs?” and you’d be all like “i totally change my mind every time i have one” and I’d be all like “well if you would promise not to talk to much I’d totally like you on mine” and you’d both be like “ew!!” and then we’d say together “but what we like on our cold dogs are Snuggies” and then she’d be all like “OMG! You guys are so excellently wonderful to your doggies and they look totally cute” and then she’d be like “oh, hey, here’s Ed” and we’d be all like “kthxbai”. And it’d all be totally awesome.
