Yeah, So, Sarah Palin Resigned
Or as she put it, “I’m not retreating, so much as advancing in another direction.” May I be so bold as to commend the Governor for this extraordinary act of patriotism? Surely this has nothing to do with that little Vanity Fair story does it? [CNN]

how terrible is it that her daughter (?) on the right, who can’t be more than a day over 14, looks like she’s carrying a serious baby bump? maybe letterman wasn’t too far off the mark…

My boyfriend thinks she’s resigning so she can spend more time concentration on Palin 2012. **shudder**

if she can’t run the largest state, how is she supposed to run the rest of the 49 as well?

@mdtobe—that is precisely why she resigned. She’s no unencumbered to start raising funds. Mitt Romney did the same thing.
I will say this….if the Republican party thinks *she* is going to unite the party and rebuild it, then I may have to officially change my registration to Democrat.

@mdtobe: 100%. Forgone conclusion when she passed up AK’s vacated Senate seat to fundraise. She’s so subtle.
A few tasty snippets from the *stunning* video to roil over the 4th of July BBQs tomorrow:
“Like Gen. MacArthur said, I’m not retreating, so much as advancing in another direction…”
[] War-talk should get ‘em going. Except wasn’t he fired for rogue command and politically zealous insubordination? Fitting for her, but she may want to rethink that choice.
“Fight for what’s right…”
[] And what’s right *IS* well, The Right, right?
“I’m not destroying, but rebuilding…”
[] Isn’t military language and strategy about destruction and winning a war against The Enemy (not cohesion and cooperation with the other team for a common goal)?
“Let’s rebuild our country from the bottom-up, not the top-down…”
[] Grassroots organization/unification is the new green, ie, she wants her constituents to get up off their collective a$$es, and take “it”/her campaign to the “streets” (incl all media), raise $$$ for an all-out mandate (to oust that socialist Prez and his gov’t programs).
“I’m passing the ball to help the team…”
[] Sports talk: Something for the men. She needs to leave the game to fight the war, ie, her campaign.
“This country needs more ‘Trigs’ (her son’s name), not less…”
[] More-babies talk: Something for the women, too. Wow, beginning to be a theme here. No BC for right people; permanent BC for the wrong people.
It sucks being the on the Team on the bench sometimes. I still say, don’t underestimate.

You know, it would really help her if she changed her hair. I mean I’ve changed mine a few times since she ran for VP, why hasn’t she. Its not just cut, she styles it the same way everytime. It would definitely help keep away the spoofs.

She cares SO MUCH about Alaska…until it starts taking up too much of her schmoozing time.
I didn’t know you could just quit being governor when you get tired of it. Does it work that way for the Presidency, too? “Oh, just kidding, I’d rather be on my book tour…”

Geezus, is it just me or did she just babble and babble and ramble and ramble and several minutes into it I was as lost as I was when I pressed play.

@Jill: Yes, although, to be fair, 99% of all political speeches are like that. When you like the person, the rambling is less painful (just as in real life), and likewise it’s even more painful when you don’t like them. But they _all_ babble and ramble. Some use better words and grammar, others make it more obvious they’re not Mensa-qualified.
In this case, though, it would have been a lot better if she’d just pretended she was on Twitter and said “Have decided 2 run 4 Prez. Gonna need more $$. So, steppin down 2 raise it. Hope 2 get it by promoting more white babies. Send $$. Kthxbai.”
