WTF? Oprah Teams Up With The “Secretary” Screenwriter
Poor Oprah. Girlfriend is having a total midlife crisis! First she quits her cash cow of a TV show; now she’s hiring the screenwriter who wrote sadomasochism spectacular “Secretary” to work on a project together. Yep, you read that right: Oprah’s Harpo Films has teamed up with Erin Cressida Wilson — who wrote all those jerk-off-worthy spanking scenes in “Secretary,” starring Maggie Gyllenhaal and James Spader — to pen an hour-long series pilot for HBO. According to Variety, the show will be about a woman who ditches her “seemingly perfect” husband and kids in Santa Monica for the “underbelly” of Los Angeles, where she fulfills her “secret fantasies and desires.” Frankly, the words “Oprah Winfrey” and “spanking” appearing in the same paragraph makes us want to ralph. But we must admit we are intrigued about what these two ladies will cook up. [Variety]

Lets see what these two could possibly cook up! Might be a flop BUT you never know, the fact that they are two DIFFERENT people, might bring in a complete master piece! Looking forward to it =]

Secretary is one of my favorite movies! Plus, I loved her follow-up, Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus, almost as much. I think what makes those movies work so well is that even though Wilson is exploring less acceptable aspects of female sexuality (ie: fetishism) they have a very fairytale feel. As squeeky-clean as Oprah’s show and image are, she’s not shy about exploring challenging artistic material with some of her book-club picks. I really hope this project actually gets made!

The HBO Series concept sounds like a modern take on the book The Awakening….I just hope the lady doesn’t kill herself at the end

If the writer of Secretary (my second favorite movie, sometimes first favorite) is doing this, I will watch.
And if Oprah is attached to it, so will millions of housewives.
