Would You Wear These High-Heeled Clogs?
Depending on when you were born, you may remember when clogs, those wooden-soled shoes originally worn by fair-skinned milkmaids in Holland, were resurrected as favorable footwear for the fashion-forward in the ‘70s and then again in the early ‘90s. For those of you who may have missed the earlier waves (or just miss the earlier waves), you’re in luck (?). Clogs are cycling back into fashion, as seen on the catwalk at Chanel and Louis Vuitton, not to mention the feet of everyone’s favorite fashionista, Sarah Jessica Parker. This time around, the clogs are high-heeled, making the already-difficult-to-walk-in shoes a virtual death trap on the streets. Usually, when function is sacrificed for style, the pay-off is a hot look. Do you think that’s the case with these clogs? [via Daily Mail]

They are unattractive. Wooden high heels don’t absorb any impact as you are walking so your feet take all the impact. I stomp when I walk so this is a really bad idea. Rubber soles are best for your feel. Think, every time you put your feet down, you are hitting the ground. The car will get a dent. What are your feet taking in every time?

Those are hideous, and I’ll bet they’re unnecessarily expensive too. Clogs aren’t that bad to walk in generally though. I have a pair of born clogs with a little bit of platform on them and they’re one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes I own, and they don’t make walking difficult.

Oh man, I remember clogs back in the ‘90s…no desire to wear them again, though! (This hasn’t stopped my mother, however. @@)
