Woman Divorces Husband For Cleaning

A German woman has divorced her husband because she was pissed he’s always drunk mean cheating cleaning. Um, we’re moving to Germany?

This woman spent 15 years of marriage huffing and guffawing at her husband because he enjoyed doing household chores like tidying and rearranging the furniture. The breaking point came when he demolished and rebuilt a wall in their home because it got dirty, which I guess is a little OCD and annoying. But still—I’m pretty sure that there’s a book of porn for women out there that consists of hot guys cleaning. Crazy Germans. How ‘bout we send them all our lazy, toothless, masses of men and they can send us their productive, toilet scrubbing ones.

And it gets us wondering: would you rather marry a cleanaholic or a total slob?

How ‘bout we send someone else our masses of shallow, self-centered, know-nothing girls and they send us some of their strong, capable, honorable women?

BTW - Knowing European family courts, they’ll probably still give her half his stuff.

I can kind of understand how this woman feels. My boyfriend has to tidy up the room before we have sex. The other night I got really fed up with it because I was in a very playful mood and wanted a quickie. We ran into the bedroom and he told me to hold on a sec while he picked up some shirts. I waited and waited and waited. He folded the laundry, adjusted the blinds and curtains, and put the clothes away. THEN he was ready. I however was not. The mood was done and dead.

There is a book (and a calendar, too):

My boyfriend is constantly offering to clean my room. Who am I to deprive him of such a constructive use of time? smile

I agree that OCD is probably not fun to live with and good for her for putting up with it for 15 years, but I appreciate a man who does housework without being asked.  For example, my boyfriend (who just so happens to be German), cooks, does the dishes, helps with the laundry, and walks the dog (even picks up her poop) without being asked.  He just offers or (shock!) WANTS to do it because he knows it helps me. If this is what Germans are like, then we definitely need them to be giving American boys a lesson. Never have I ever dated an American guy who did any of those things without acting like it was some special treat for me and expecting huge amounts of praise and/or a blow job. It’s also entirely possible that I’ve dated a bunch of jerks irrespective of their nationality…

Okay, that’s that. I’m moving to Germany after hearing Jimnist’s story!

jimnist…I think the latter may be true in that it may have just been their personality and not that they were American. I like to have a partnership that is productive rather than “treating” a S.O. to taking out the trash lol

I love that my hubby does his fair share of the housework. However, I have OCD and cannot tolerate even the slightest bit of clutter/mess/dirt/disorder/whatever you wanna call it, so this guy and I would have the cleanest house ever! It would so rock! smile

I actually have to go with nemesis on this one, even though i have definitely disagreed with other comments of his/hers before. Olivia, your choice of words was not great in that particular section. I understand you were trying to be funny, but we are very sensitive to even the most obvious of jokes targeting women, so we should do the same for men. Let’s not man-hate smile

“I want you to WANT to do the dishes!”
“Why would I want to do the dishes?”
