Wedding Weight Loss To The Extreme

We often hear about women trying to lose weight before their wedding, but here’s a story about a man doing so, and it’s not just a few extra pounds. Manuel Uribe, who has dropped 550 lbs. over the last two years, celebrates his 43rd birthday today, and his wish is to be able to walk down the aisle on his wedding—he hasn’t been able to leave his bed for the last six years. Still, his fiancée said they have a real relationship, including sex, and the only real issue is that her parents were concerned that her first husband, also obese, had died of respiratory failure. Manuel, who lives in Mexico, says his obesity began when he lived in the U.S. about 10 years ago and consumed a diet of junk food and soft drinks. “It is all because of the junk food,” he said. Sure, junk food is bad for you, but you’re also not supposed to consume it by the busload. Not mocking the obese, but Manuel has free will. He’s not a foie gras duck.

Also, it’s not like he woke up one day and was grossly overweight—maybe around 300 pounds he should have said to himself, “Hmmm, maybe I should put down this fifth Whopper…”

Well, if you read the full article, it seems that he got big and then had liposuction complications, which resulted in 200-pound tumors.

Liposuction is not the cure for weight loss.  Is he getting gastric bypass?

of course he’s going to try and blame someone or something for his own stupid choices to become that way.  Most people do nowadays, its always someone else’s fault.  there’s no personal responsibility anymore. I fully understand that some people are more genetically prone to obeisity, but there is NO excuse for getting like that. I in no way look down on them, just only when they seek pity for their situation.
