You say the US has a pay gap of 20%, females earning less than males one year out of college, in the same job. If that is true, it is indeed wrong.
Equal pay for equal work is the right thing.

Great, now we get an AIDS influx!  Just when I though illiterate peasants and scamming criminals with welfare dreams were not enough, just what we need - a boost to the economy with AIDS tourism!  What will those crazy democrats think of next?
My parents came to the US too, but they were college educated young professionals who never got a cent from welfare and in just a couple of years started a business and owned a home.  Thats the immigration the country needs, not starving, AIDS ravaged people who need to be subsidized until they croak.

    Re: OG217,

Clearly you have never read the plaque at the bottom of the Statue of Liberty.

”  Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
      With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she
With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

    RT @og217

Would you feel differently if people with AIDS were being persecuted in their own countries? In some African countries, for example, it is illegal to be homosexual. As there continues to be the belief that only gay people have AIDS, those peoples’ lives are endangered.

The AIDS thing may be the first thing Obama’s done that I disagree with.

Usually, I feel like he’s not going left-leaning ENOUGH, like he’s being too much of a centrist and making too many compromises to appease the right… this time, I feel like he’s waaaaay out in left field with this one. FAIL.

Just to further that study, the number drops to 60 cents to a man’s dollar 20 years into their careers.

Am I the only one who doesn’t see a problem with sexually fetishizing Asians and other minorities? Y’know what? No need to answer that. It’s probably yes. lol
