Thoughts From Guys On Our IM: Sex And The City Madness

That movie comes out this weekend. You know...that movie. The premiere is tonight in New York and we weren’t invited, so we’re sort of pissed. As we reflect upon the biggest show in the history of television for ladies (more on that later this week), we decided to ask the dudes on our IM how they felt about Sex and the City and the legions of Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte wannabes it created. Needless to say, they were never impressed. Their thoughts, after the jump.

Wow… guys is it just a TV show! Calm down! Men always get their panties in a twist when you mention Sex In The City. It is just pure entertainment and I admit it, I miss that show!

“Girl funny” is a pretty terrible term and while I was never a Sex and the City maniac, sometimes it was pretty #### funny. “Girl funny” implies some lesser humor, I hate the idea that women aren’t really funny and that a woman’s “sense of humor”, in many men’s minds, is just how funny she thinks he is.

I have to be honest… I’m so sick of hearing about SATC. I mean, they pretty much spoiled the plot months ago with those in-filming clips. Not to mention, it was never *that* great of a show. Amusing, edgy, envelope-pushing—yes, but definitely not worth all the hype it’s received. I don’t know anyone who sits around going, “I’m a Carrie” and “I’m a Miranda” or whatever every article claims women do.
So, I totally agree with your guy friends

@Amelia. Oooh, sounds fun. Of course, I probably still will see the movie… in the dollar theater. I think Samantha’s going to die of advanced syphilis. And, of course, we have to find out Big’s name. Any other guesses on what hasn’t been spoiled by the trailers?
