It’s STD Awareness Month! We’ve been talking a lot about the icky stuff you can get while bumping uglies, while Dr. V has urged you to have as much fun as you want, so long as you wear a condom. In the past, we’ve talked to the guys on our IM about how often they actually use condoms, but we’ve never grilled them about how often they get tested for STDs. And what I really wanted to know was how often they were actually honest when a potential sex partner asked them that question. Let’s find out…

Great complement to other STD posts, Amelia/Kiki. Am totally down with “Don,” 12:52, esp.
Q: What would be wrong with shifting testing convos/info from relationship To-Do list onto the dating resume? TMI even after, say, the third-or-so date?
Ultimately, we’re staging ourselves for sexual contact, aren’t we? Why not get that out there, too?
Having said that, I haven’t been tested in 2 years (except for reg gyno-related screenings), been with sig for 5, but use condom.

I get tested every six months because i have a lot of female problem, and i have to go to the gyno that often for test anyways. So i always get him to do that while we are testing for other things. However, my boyfriend does have HSV-1 (Cold sores)that he was born with and we are very careful with it because I don’t want it, so that is another reason i am adament about getting tested
