Thoughts From Guys On Our IM: Men Have Body Image Issues Too

We all have insecurities don’t we? When I was a teenager, I was hit with a triple dose of the fuglies, getting glasses, braces, and a raging case of acne within a two month period. I don’t think the insecurity that arose during that time has ever gone away completely, though now I worry more about my muffin top than I do about my skin. That said, some women obsess way too much about their so-called “imperfections”. But what about dudes? Do they spend hours starring in the mirror, willing the gigantic whiteheads between their brows to go away? I decided to ask the guys on my IM about men and body insecurities. When none of them brought up the size of their penis, I, of course, asked.

Well lucky them. I don’t think I’ve known a single woman who hasn’t had body issues at SOME point in their lives. I really don’t think it’s that all women directly mock everything they see, but it’s how society treats us when we gain a little weight. It’s also how men treat us when we gain a little weight…and I’m not saying that they tell us we’re fat, but it’s the number of men asking us out that decreases with weight gain. I sayn this because I’ve witnessed it happen to me before. I don’t think it’s always a woman’s “insecurity” that makes her feel fat.
Women’s clothing sizes fit tighter while mens generally are baggy. That maybe another reason women focus on weight more.

I’ve noticed that men have more concerns about “performance” than women do. Thinking that other men last longer, etc. Most women I know really don’‘t worry too much about their “technique” since men seem to want to sleep w/them regardless. So that does raise a question for guys on IM: How much do men really care about a girl’s technique in bed?

a girl’s technique can be a dealbreaker, it has to be really bad - but it’s possible. Everyone is different and part of the fun is finding that rhythm together. I’ve dated a few girls though that thought theirs was the only way and they took what were meant as helpful suggestions as personal attacks. Needless to say they were the most insecure and I moved on quickly. Sex should be fun, not serious.

so my question is… ive always had guys ask me about the men ive slept with. [which has only been one guy ive slept with] and then they ask me ‘is he big?’ and im like ‘i dunno! does it matter?!’ well heres my questions…for one; why does it matter to men what the past men sizes are? why does it matter if theyre good or bad? is it some kind of ego booster or something?
and my other question… what is considered average size? or small size? or large size??[and this is embarassing too] but… are you talking about sizes before men get an erection? or after?
