Today in our “Dating Don’ts” column, Judy McGuire gave some tips on how NOT to act on a first date if you don’t want your companion runnin’ for the hills. But we decided that there must be things guys shouldn’t do on a first date either that set women off. We decided to ask the women on our IM (yes, they’re there!) what would turn them off on a first date. Their responses, after the jump…

For me, first date dealbreakers include:
1. Mentioning that he doesn’t know what he wants to do with his life, career, etc. Save those existential moments for later.
2. Moving too fast too soon (as mentioned above). From “I think you’re really sexy” to “I couldn’t stop thinking about you” to “I’d love to spend new year’s with you at my place in florida.”
3. Appears overly frugal. Splitting hairs over price of things on menu.
4. Rude to wait staff.
5. Overly intense eye contact.

When a guy has no sense in what he wants to accomplish in life i.e. no goals, no sense of worth.

dealbreaker: checks out chicks in front of me, while pretending to look at me and while walking with me. even more so if he thinks i don’t notice. sorry- nothing more pathetic than a womanizer. don’t waste my time you asshat.
