hell yeah for the Jay Reatard reference Simcha!!

My band of the summer has been Vivian Girls, everyone should check them out! Pretty mellow compared to what I usully listen to though *I LOVE noise!!* but fun fact, when I saw them in Chicago this summer, the Gza was standing right next to me! I was so excited I almost embaressed the hell out of myself saying hello, but he was really a nice guy.

Hasn’t it been a great summer for music fests btw? I still have ATP NY to go in a couple weeks!

My song of the summer is probably “Nothing to Worry About” by Peter Bjorn and John… its so happy, every time it comes on I get all smiley.
I’m also lovin “I’ve Got Your Number” by Passion Pit.  At first I resisted my love for it because of the cheesy lyrics in the chorus, but finally I broke down and now listen it all the time.

Heads Will Roll is an excellent tune.

I’m sorry to say I’m not a huge fan of Wilco- though I’ve tried really hard to like them, I can never get around how their songs always end up giving me a headache.

And yay for Dead Weather!

Oooh, well I love the Plushguns right now!! Songs by them that I like are Let Me Kiss You Now (And I’ll Fade Away)—plus, it has a ukulele in it smile And I also like How We Roll, Just Impolite, and Maybe Tomorrow by them.

Gonna have to ditto Kate with Passion Pit. That song was on repeat pretty much my entire summer! Great choice! Also, the entire latest Lily Allen album was great for a day at the pool, assuming you don’t have neighbors that are easily offended. :x

Those exact two songs by Phoenix and Grizzly Bear shot their way up my Top 25 most played list this summer…in other words: YES.
