The Case Of The Porn Star Vs. America’s Sweetheart
You know those stories that are just sad all around, the ones in which no one really wins? The story of former adult actress Janine Lindemulder battling to regain custody of her 5-year-old daughter, Sunny, from Sandra Bullock and Jesse James looks to be one of those stories. Lindemulder was recently released from prison, where she was doing time for tax evasion. Now, she wants custody of her daughter, who has been under the care of Bullock and James. A recent court filing suggests the war over Sunny is getting ugly. The Bullock/James camp points out that Lindemulder is, in addition to being a former porn star, a former substance abuser and a convicted felon. That Lindemulder recently married another convicted felon (who, judging by his tattoos, also looks to be a former gang member) probably doesn’t help her case. It’s hard to imagine that the self-proclaimed broke Lindemulder will have much luck when she goes up against the Hollywood stars’ high-powered legal team. While Sunny may well be better off with her father and step-mother, it’s hard to see a mother fighting for her child, a battle she’ll probably lose because she’s haunted by her tortured past. It’s not really that sad when the mother made bad choices that would clearly have a negative impact on her daughter (and her ability to raise her daughter). The child deserves to live in a safe environment. Just because Janine is the mother doesn’t mean she’s a suitable parent. She should lose this battle.

I think it’s also important to note that Jesse James (Sandra Bullock’s husband) is the girl’s biological father. This fact has been somewhat glossed over in this post, and i’m not sure why. Given that he is the girl’s father, he has as much right to custody as Lindermuler does.

The issue isn’t that she’s a porn star. That’s just her job. The issue should be her lifestyle choices, the drugs and poor money management. But her job will be dragged into it.
