Sweatpants Are Suddenly Cool

From Alexander Wang to Marc by Marc Jacobs, something rather odd happened on the spring 2010 runways during Fashion Week: Sweatpants became cool again. Whether we’re talking fleecy material dresses or actual sweats, they were everywhere and looked much more fashionable and much less Juicy Couture. As lovers of cool-looking comfort clothes, we fully approve of this move towards clothing that allow us to breathe just a little. [CBS News]

“Sweatpants are an informal variety of trousers intended for comfort or athletic purposes,” that doesnt mean we should intend to wear these like high fashion. Lets keep those as comfort.. there are just some people who dont need any kind of reassurance about wearing this stuff in public.

No, no. No and no again. High fashion has officially gone too far now. Sweatpants are just a big no, no, no, no. Wear them to yoga, wear them to bed, wear them to lounge around and eat ice cream, DO NOT WEAR THEM OUT OF THE HOUSE.

Yes, Yes, Yes, and yes again. High fashion has not officially gone too far. Sweatpants are a yes. Who wants to wear uncomfortable tight jeans when you can be comfortable in your sweatpants. Who says you can’t wear sweatpants out of the house? Wear them in public and be comfortable and if you think sweatpants don’t look good enough to be worn in public, they do sell stylish sweatpants (VS PINK, Abercrombie, Juicy, etc), you don’t have to wear the plain ones they sell at Walmart.
