StyleHiving: More Sex And The City Style (We Told You It Wasn’t Over Yet!)

Last week I provided date-night ensemble ideas inspired by images from Sex and the City and now that the day is finally here, I’ve decided to go into a bit more depth with fashion rules and guidelines inspired by TV’s most beloved fab foursome. For six seasons, these ladies taught us to adopt an ‘anything goes’ approach to fashion, among other things—though we still haven’t forgiven Patricia Field for those giant flower pins.

“I’m A Carrie!!!”
Carrie’s style is eclectic and fearless—she loves striking colors, graphic patters, piles of accessories, and isn’t afraid to mix and match styles, prints and textures. From outrageously eccentric to minimal and chic, from daring and revealing to classic and elegant from haute couture to thrift store throwaways, Carrie goes on fashion limb after limb and pulls it off perfectly every time. Her fashion motto: create the trends don’t follow them, endure the pain and wear heels at all times, and make whatever sacrifices necessary to afford clothing from the top designers. Hence, this &*$# is crazy expensive.

“I’m A Samantha!!!”
Just like her personality, Samantha’s style is bold and powerful, radiating confidence and sexuality. She embraces her curves in form-fitting power suits,  clingy dresses that hug all the right places (the easier to remove the better) and isn ‘t afraid to attract attention in wild animal prints and blaring colors.

“I’m A Charlotte!!!”
Charlotte is by far the most classic and conservative of the bunch. She loves to keep it clean and classic- crisp shirts, full skirts, flirty dresses, always paired with the proper perfectly coordinated bag and shoes. Charlotte plays up her femininity with bows, playful prints, pearls, ruffles, florals, and soft pastel hues, but sometimes incorporates a cheeky downtown vibe to her classic uptown-girl style. She may look sweet and innocent, but this gal definitely has an acute understanding of the power of the feminine form and isn’t afraid to exploit this knowledge with to her full advantage with bolder, more body conscious ensembles that always strike the perfect balance between daring and demure.

“I’m A Miranda!!!”
Miranda’s style is definitely more on the practical, corporate side. For day she favors sleek suits and tailored separates in basic colors. For nights out with the girls, however, she let’s her inner fashionista emerge with slinky dresses, playful prints, bold accessories, and more body-con silhouettes
