Style Face-Off: Divas Take Monday Night Football

Where I come from, there is a pretty standard uniform for football games, and it does not include white silk jumpsuits, or tight white pants paired with sparkly custom-fit jerseys. This is mostly a precautionary measure, as it’s easy to get sloshed with beer and messy foods like burgers and hot dogs. Apparently, this does not apply to “divas” like Jennifer Lopez and Gloria Estefan, who showed up to Monday Night Football in Miami last night looking like they had never heard of the sport. (At least Estefan looks semi-appropriate for the event.) Huh. [Miami, 10/13/09]

Let’s face it—these two are not going to be sitting down on row 36 seat 26 next to a group of guys with ‘Go Dolphins’ slathered across their half-naked bodies. They’ll be up in the owners box, sipping champagne in a cool, air-conditioned bodega. It’s pretty common for execs to be up there in suits and ties, so I don’t think either of these outfits are a stretch. Plus, the Dolphin’s colors happen to be white, teal and orange so going with the white outfits doesn’t seem inappropriate either.

@conspicuos, your right , they probabaly have sky box seats, which are air conditioned with champagne being served, for a real fan those seats are a nightmare, horrible view. Gloria is atleast showing some pride, Jenifer lopez looks likes shes going to a concert, but she’s not the only one, I always see girls dressed up like they are going to a club when on dates with their bf to sporting events. It makes me giggle when I see them an hour later with their heels in their hand.. Stadium parking is a bitch, unless your handicapped you can gurantee parking a mile away. I always go home smelling like beer and hot dogs after games, thats just the way it is.

@Humble: I’ve been in the Prudential box at FedEx field to see the Redskins play the Giants. I can tell you with out a doubt that that box was awesome, and the view was fine too.

For box seats, they are dressed appropriately. Ever see one of the owners or players wives in the box dressed in jeans, jerseys and sneakers?

Speaking of football, there was talk of an extremely annoying, racist, blowhard with a prescription drug problem and barely any education join the ranks of NFL owners, and Jim Irsay, owner of the Indianapolis Colts, did not like it. Jim Irsay doesn’t support Rush Limbaugh (did we mention the pills and no education?) becoming an owner in any capacity of the Rams. Limbaugh says opposition to his bid is because of Democrats, further displaying a lack of cognizance, rationality, and a further lack of the absence of drugs from his system. (We might mention that he likes pills – and racism!) Jim Irsay, and rightly so, would have Limbaugh get a personal loan for something else and to stay out of the NFL.
