- Designer Tara Subkoff may not get the $175,000 her friends raised for her to recover from her brain tumor removal. The money’s currently being held by the New York Foundation for the Arts and it’s hard to tell whether it’s all a misunderstanding or there’s some shady business going on. [The Cut]
- Daphne Guinness claims that those insane McQueen shoes everyone’s always talking about are actually pretty lightweight. Right *eyeroll*. [Fashionista]
- We don’t know what it means, but there’s a company releasing perfume concocted with Marilyn Monroe‘s DNA in mind. Yay? [The Boston Phoenix]

I think lady gaga had those shoes on in her new video “bad romance” and they are just weird looking. They look like alien shoes?? How is that fashion?

I want to see a x-ray of someone wearing those shoes to show how contorted their feet must look.
@jitterbug, I believe they are called alien shoes.

I would like to know what exactly the inspiration for them was. Because… all I can think of is that they look exactly like my dog’s toenails. Hot.

i think people misunderstand what most designers intentions are with those sorts of things. alexander mcqueen never intended for those shoes to be ‘in fashion’, its more like conceptual art that happens to fit on feet and enhance his runway show.
