Standing Up For One Night Stands
A new study is claiming women don’t like one-night stands. Um, doesn’t a blanket statement like that need circumstantial qualifications? Such as: Women don’t like one-night stands when:
1. It’s a pity lay.
2. They’re new to college and sex, so they’re not really sure how to do it.
3. They’ve accidentally taken home David Hasselhoff.
4. They’re drunk and/or regret it the next day.
Then maybe the research compiled by Professor Ann Campbell of Durham University through an internet survey, claiming that 54% of women have negative feelings the next day, might make sense. After all, why would women do something they don’t want to over and over again? We here at The Frisky get it and take it when we want it. Sure, we all want quality over quantity, but women are adults and we all make our own decisions. Sure, someday we may use our tunnel of love for birthin’ babies, but up until that point, we’re all just in it for the ride. Well, at least 46% of us. [Sunderland Echo]

I have had good one night stands and bad one night stands. The best one ever was both totally hot, and helped me get over someone else I was hung up on. I have nothing but sweet memories of it and I think it went so well because neither of us had expectations beyond that one night. I think it becomes a problem when one person thinks more is going to happen, and the other doesn’t.

Unfortunately, I got herpes from a one night stand. If I could take it back, I would because I think he actually knew that he had it and didn’t want to tell me. I never got to tell him that he gave it to me, so he probably spread it to others. Because of that, I would never recommend a one night stand to anyone because you just never know where that person has been or if they are being honest with you.

@Jenn. That’s awful that happened to you! But a good lesson to other readers here of the importance of ALWAYS using protection against STDs (especially in light of recent reports that 1/5 Americans has herpes. Eek!).

I’ve had never had a one bad one night stand, but who knew that my one night stand would end up my boyfriend! After we hooked up for a while, and I was ready to move on and find something else (my moto had always been: There’s always a Plan B.) He asked me to date him seriously!

I have been out of the dating game for years. I just got divorced and I went out with a friend and out of the blues he kissed me and well I responded. Needless to say we ended up in the sack although neither of us agreed to a one night stand. He hasn’t called back and I feel so bad because he was my friend. What should I do or should I just blow it off??? Actually I feel so Embarrassed.
