Sonogram Cufflinks: Clever Or Creepy?

Sonogram Cufflinks

Call me crazy, but I’ve always found sonogram pictures of unborn babies a tad creepy. I mean, I’m happy to look at photos of people’s babies when they actually look like human beings with real facial features and everything, but anything before that seems superfluous. Take these sonogram cufflinks, for example — clever, but completely unnecessary. Save the sonogram pics for the baby albums, people.

Weird, mostly because I don’t think a guy would want to wear these. But there are some proud daddies out there.

What kind of occasion calls for sonogram cufflinks?  A really fancy baby shower?  Or are these like the bronzed shoes, and it’s really just decorative?  Inquiring minds want to know!

Definitely Creepy. I recently had to hide the posts of a ‘friend’ on Facebook because her profile picture was one of those 3-D sonogram images of her unborn fetus that was staring at the camera. It had dark spots as eyes, a gaping mouth and the thing looked exactly like a spawn of satan/alien lifeform. Made me wonder if her birth would be followed by an exorcism.

Maybe I will to hell for saying that, but I have been needing to get this off my chest for a while… Agreed that many are cute and sweet after birth, but I don’t need/want to see everyone’s sonogram.

Creepy.  As I am finding out as some friends are having kids, I’m not really that interested in what your kid did/said.

Creepy. One of my friends from college sent me a xmas card a few years ago with him, his wife, their pets and their fetus. Very disturbing.

Wow, obviously no parents commenting. I think it’s a little different to say the least, but I don’t find it as appalling as some of the other comments. Might be a quirky gift for a quirky dad.

sheesh, people!  i agree that other people’s ultrasound photos don’t do much for the rest of us, but i’m not so horrified/disturbed by them that i would imply that a friend who posts them is not a real friend (as implied by the quotations in vanna’s post).  i love seeing photos of people’s babies, of course, but i think ultrasound photos are boring.  but just that—boring.  unless that’s your baby in it, it looks generic to the rest of us!
