@Annika You got that dress at Walmart???  Seriously?  I have to ask how many times you have washed it and how well it has held up because it is really cool and I want it.

@lawyrgrl I’ve only had it for a week, so I haven’t washed it yet, but I have quite a few pieces from Norma Kamali’s Walmart line and they’ve held up very well. The material of the dress is a heavy polyester jersey that keeps its shape and drapes nicely. It’s also the same fabric of another pricier Kamali dress (not from Walmart) that I have. I love this dress so much that I’m going to buy it in the burgundy color as well. Don’t sleep on Walmart because it now has to compete with Target designer stuff, and I’ve found the Walmart garments to be better made than Target.

This column functions as a tutorial for me on how to dress myself, since I really have no clue. I’m trying to venture outside of the world of jeans and fitted tees…. Fashion confuses me, but you lovelies always make it look so easy and so good!

ps.  kate, i love the outfit actually…but i think higher heels would have really completed the look.  i can’t talk; i wore totally frumpy shoes to work today cuz i have mad blisters.
