Robert Pattinson Hates New York And His Wacko Fans

Good job, stupid Twilighters. Your insanity has made Robert Pattinson hate NYC and all its women. While shooting “Remember Me” in Manhattan, the heartthrob has been bombarded by desperate, love-starved tweens hoping to cop a feel. They are so bad that Pattinson’s “Remember Me” costars are worried. First there was that whole running-away-from-fans-and-getting-hit-by-a-cab incident. They also say he has lost a lot of weight and is miserable. He’s had to hotel hop so that his obnox fans won’t find out where he’s staying. R-Patz refuses to even look up any more for fear of egging on his wacko fans.
One source said the “Twilight” star is, “embarrassed by the way girls throw themselves at him.” He can’t wait to get back to London where people are “cooler about the fame thing.” [NY Daily News]
Wait a second, us New Yorkers pride ourselves on ignoring celebs and letting them do their thing. Who are these girls, anyway, and what are they doing in this city where anonymity rules? I have walked by both Johnny Depp and Rihanna on the street here and both times I completely ignored them and so did every one else. London? Seriously, Robert? Everyone knows that NYC is the place to be, especially if you are rich and famous. Come back in a few months. I will have, err, disposed of all the annoying tweens who are haunting the streets and you can enjoy NYC at last. I’ll even take you back to my apartment show you around.
Dear Twilighters, watch out. You are giving NYC and women everywhere a bad name. I’m coming for you.

From the video of the crazy fans chasing him, posted here a while back, I can hardly blame the guy.
I wonder if he knew this would happen, would he have taken the role? It catapulted his career for sure, but that might have happened anyway. Maybe a few years down the road with a movie that doesn’t have so many love-starved insane-o’s surrounding it.

i dont have tons of sympathy. he should have done his research before taking the role. it was always going to cause a craze from the begining.

But if Twilight isn’t as huge in the UK as it is in North America he really couldn’t have known. I do feel sorry for him. Whatever role he’s playing, he doesn’t deserve being hounded by mentally unstable obsessive fans, which most twihards seem to be. They can’t separate reality from fiction and if you dis the book they assume it’s a personal attack. I find it pretty scary, and they aren’t even chasing me!

I wouldn’t exactly say he should have expected this. I mean, paparazzi following your every move: yes, people asking for autographs and pictures, and shouting your name sometimes: yes, the occasional crazy girl fan: yes, but being mauled and mobbed 24/7 is a little much. I feel bad for the guy. Why aren’t these girl’s parents controlling them??
Maybe that’s why he doesn’t bathe. Because he’s trying to drive them away with his greasy hair and stanky BO.

I am so sick of hearing people say, “Well, he should just expect that.” A statement or saying ANYTHING to that effect is ridiculous and just hands down, stupid! Yes, he is a celebrity. Yes, he’s REALLY popular right now. Yes, he’s definitely in the limelight! But, with all of those things taken into consideration, he shouldn’t have to give up the right to his own personal space. EVERYONE is entitled to feel safe and secure within the confines of their own personal “bubble”. I agree that maybe he shouldn’t be surprised that he has thousands (maybe even millions) of crazed fans, but I don’t think he should expect to be grabbed, poked, prodded, or groped every time that he is out in public.
Don’t get me wrong! I AM a fan of his as well. I’m a 23 years old and I think he’s absolutely adorable, but it’s just not in my character makeup to go up to a complete stranger and invade their space. It’s not right! I can totally understand why he would be frightened and mortified by that type of behavior. Ugh! I am so embarrassed for girls that can’t keep themselves in check and HAVE to touch him. Cry, scream, wave- whatever! But just stop trying to TOUCH him all the freaking time! No one wants a complete stranger trying to tackle them!
I think that IF this entire article is true and he TRULY does feel this way about the “crazed fans”, Twilight/Rob fans should really think about treading lightly. If you don’t, your precious Rob may not be able to take much more and he’ll just disappear for a while, if not forever.
