Roald Dahl, Sex Spy
You may have know that Roald Dahl came to the U.S. as an undercover agent (his primary job was to rally politically influential Americans to the Allied cause), but did you know that he used sex to carry about this business? According to the new Roald Dahl biography, The Irregulars, got busy with Standard Oil heiress Millicent Rogers and congresswoman (and the publisher of Time magazine’s wife) Clare Boothe Luce. According to the book’s author, Jennet Conant, “A certain amount of hank-panky was condoned, especially when it was for a good cause.” [Paste]

I love Roald Dahl and remember reading his wacky “My Uncle Oswald”—a novel about a commercial sperm bank broker, which was a concept way ahead of its time. His adult short stories are also strangely perverse, not in a sexual way, but in a way that really stays with you…
Reminds me of Dr. Seuss, who also had a naughty side and illustrated a book called The Seven Lady Godivas!
