“Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince” Has A Soggy World Premiere

Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson stepped onto a very soggy red carpet last night for the world premiere of “Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince” in London. Even completely soaked and standing under umbrellas, the cast still looked magically delicious—except Helena Bonham Carter who wore an unsurprisingly witchy ensemble. But the torrential downpour was not the only hurdle to clear for the premiere. [Daily Mail]
Rupert Grint must have used a healing potion to recover from the swine flu in time to see the film. Another cast member wasn’t so lucky. All wizards know you can’t do magic outside of school, but that didn’t stop Vincent Crabbe (aka Jamie Waylett) from trying. Just before the premiere, Scotland Yard charged the 19-year-old Waylett with growing 10 pot plants. While Emma Watson did make it to the premiere, the starlet will soon board her broom in true Hermione style—she’s bound for college in the states. Honoring another dearly departed spirit, the cast and crew wore white ribbons for actor Rob Knox, who was tragically stabbed to death last year.
With all the hype, thousands of soaked screaming fans turned up for the premiere. Unfortunately, I couldn’t jet to London in time, so I’m holding my breath until the sixth HP installment opens here on July 15. Just seven more days to go! Below, here’s what the critics are saying. Darn, they’re only making me yearn more for my wizard fix.
Variety says:
“Dazzlingly well made and perhaps deliberately less fanciful than the previous entries, this one is played in a mode closer to a palpable life-or-death drama than any of the others and it quite effective as such.”
The Sun calls it:
“The most confident, stylish, individual, warm-hearted and witty Harry Potter yet.”
The Daily Telegraph explains:
“For fans both of the films and the books, this is an elegant addition to the canon.”
And the BBC says:
“For the first time a Potter film has gone beyond the magic and gives us all something to think about.”

I liked Helena Bonham Carter’s outfit. There is a woman who dresses the way she wants and doesn’t show any regret. Sure, Emma Watson’s dress looks better, but Helena’s picture is far better because she looks like she’s having a fun time.

Emma Watson looks classy and put together. And who hasn’t had a gust of wind wreak havoc with their dress.
Now, J.K. Rowling…she needed a stylist. That dress didn’t fit her at all.

Some of you may be a little behind in the Harry Potter series. Since it’s about to release and be the biggest movie of the summer, a lot of people are looking for a Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince review for them not to be left behind. So far the consensus among the various Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince review pages is two hours of character development, with the last half hour being action packed. To some, it isn’t worth payday loans and long lines. Still, the series is wildly popular, launching the careers of Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, and making JK Rowling very wealthy. (Spoiler – Dumbledore dies.) Many will lay down quick cash to see this new film, regardless of any negative Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
