Quotable: Jon And Kate Sign Off (For Good, We Hope)
Well, here’s a big reason to give thanks this week: Last night TLC aired the final episode of “Jon and Kate Plus 8.” Holla! In it, both Kate and Jon individually spoke directly into the camera about ife as a single parent and what they had to say was markedly different. For his part, Jon spoke about his bachelor pad in Manhattan, saying:
“Although I live there, it’s not like I’m at my house. Now it’s like I have a place to go. When I get sick of the city and all the press and the media, I cross the [George Washington Bridge], I go back to my country place and I can just chill. I’ve got the best of both worlds right now.”
Kate is a little more realistic about her new role as a single mom, saying:
“When I’m driving to get school supplies with the kids or try on shoes ... it always crosses my mind that I should be in the passenger seat and Jon should be driving. Every single time. To clarify, maybe I wanted roles to change and for people to step up and stress loads to shift. [But] I never wanted him absent from that driver’s seat.”

Whether you like Kate or not, at least she has her priorities in a better place than him.

I don’t know about that, if you watched last nights episode. She said she doesn’t let her kids drink very much MILK because “organic milk is so expensive”, but she lives in a huge mansion, wears designer clothes, and drives a $60,000 car. Are kids supposed to get 3 cups a day so their bones grow right? How’s that for priorities?

Well, specifically on that point, if you’re getting calcium from other sources, it shouldn’t be a problem. I rarely drank milk as a kid (I’ve just always HATED it), but I’m fine. And maybe not ALL of her priorities are perfect…I just said hers seem to be better than his. I mean, maybe his fridge in New York is stocked with organic milk. I can’t speak to that. And neither did he.

@fireflyeyes, there are many other sources of calcium than milk.
