Keira Knightley Gets My Fair Lady Role
  • Keira Knightley has beaten Scarlett Johansson for the part of Eliza Doolittle in a new film adaptation of “My Fair Lady.” [The Telegraph]—Keira is the better pick for the part anyway.
  • Lawyers for Jennifer Lopez have sent a cease-and-desist letter to her first husband Ojani Noa to shut down production of “How I Married Jennifer Lopez: The J-lo and and Ojani Noa Story,” a mockumentary-style movie. [The Wrap]
  • What exactly does a $100,000 wedding look like? Take a peek inside WeddingChannel.com’s dream wedding for a Washington, D.C.-based couple. [Us Weekly]—I’d have a hard time spending that amount of money, even if someone else were footing the bill, but I’d love the Tacori jewelry.
  • Here’s a fun way to pass the time and impress your friends with your celebrity trivia. Can you recognize the celebrity based on her real, not-so-cute name? [TrèsSugar]—I only got one wrong and wasn’t really paying attention to the photos.
  • The mall can be a fashion haven even with all the cookie-cutter chain stores. Take a look at some of the stylish finds available at your local teenage hangout. [Refinery 29]—I’ve already got the Old Navy sweater in my sights.
  • Urban legends aren’t supposed to be true, but these six creepy ones are. [Cracked]
  • Heather Graham is starring in a new TV ad, obtained exclusively by the Huffington Post, put out by MoveOn.org to pitch the health care public option. [Huffington Post]

Woo hoo! I’m 10 for 10 with the celebrity names! (Okay, it wasn’t really that difficult.) smile And I don’t blame any of them for changing their names!

Guh. I don’t care if Knightley is more right for they part than Johansson; she’s still no Audrey Hepburn/Marni Nixon combo.

I want to know who they’re going to get to play Higgens. Whoever it is will have a hell of a time trying to do it better than Rex Harrison.

I was all about the 100K wedding (hey, if somebody’s going to pay for and it looks like do tons of the planning?? why not!) - until I saw the part about the dollar dance, which raised $400 for a charity benefiting soldiers.  Okay, 100K for the wedding, $400 to charity.  Something seems amiss.  Maybe this isn’t such a good idea after all.

$400 is better than $0.  I’m sure the charity didn’t complain about it.

I’m really sad that the movie people are wanting to ruin such a classic movie. No I have nothing against Keira Knightly. It’s that the original My Fair Lady was so spectacular it should just be left well alone, as well some of the other good classics that have been recently ruined the past five or so years. For example, The Pink Panther, nothing wrong with Peter Sellars so why try to remake it.

Oy. I don’t know about re doing My Fair Lady. Its my FAVORITE musical ever and I don’t want to see it ruined. You just can’t replace the original in any way shape or form.

totally agree with all the comments about My Fair Lady! i’m so sad they’re remaking it, i don’t get why they need to remake what’s already an amazing film that can’t possibly get any better! No other actors would be believable to me for those roles than Hepburn and Harrison are.
