  • Bail has been increased exponentially to $30 million for Jaycee Lee Dugard‘s alleged kidnapper . [Folsom Telegraph]
  • Jessica Simpson‘s Malti-Poo most likely met an unfortunate fate when it was snatched by a coyote. [The Envelope]—That should teach her not to encroach on the territory of wild animals.
  • Take some style cues from the film “Valley Girl,” fer like fer sure. [Trend De La Creme]—The ‘80s are still here, whether we like it or not. But that black and white striped dress is awesome!

I think if you read the original source material, Obama was somewhere for an interview; during an “off the record” period, he made that comment.  A technician overheard and put it on the net or twitter, and off it went.  I’d say even presidents are allowed to discuss non-earth shaking events during their regular conversations.

Looks like Obama wants a high five.

It seems to be all Obama all the time 24/7-does the man have a concept of overexposure. He is going to be on Letterman and 5, count them 5 Sunday shows. As of his seven-month in office mark in August, he had done 114 interviews, compared to 37 by former President George W. Bush and 41 by former president Bill Clinton at a similar point in their administrations, according to Martha Joynt Kumar, a political science professor at Towson University in Maryland.

@Pinky: I think that’s the point…he wants to be a relevant, consistent part of American lives.

I actually like him more for it.  He’s human and even the prez deserves a few moments of shooting the poop once in a while.  And he was right.

@Pinky - why is overexposure a bad thing? He’s our President.. you act like he shouldn’t be in the spotlight at all..

“Sure, that’s what a lot of Americans are saying, Mr. President—but aren’t you supposed to be busy trying to get us health care?” - Oh please. It was a very brief remark he made off the record in response to someone else’s question about it. You act as though he held a press conference about it.

Being the prez isn’t a 9-to-5 affair with scheduled breaks and a 30-minute lunch. He’s got to work pretty much 24/7 and squeeze a personal life in there somewhere. Hell, even Bush was the most vacation-ing president ever.

Take 5, guys. Smoke ‘em if you’ve got ‘em.

I agree with cadyms and white mushroom..last time people made a huge fuss about the Prez commenting on Jessica Simpson’s weight and it really was just an off-remark.

Hey at least he’s paying attention to things going on, not completely effin oblivious like our last president. I would rather our leader be in touch and in tune with the times rather than a puppet of some evil overlord.

speaking of Jessica, I feel bad for her and her dog! It’s sorta cannibalistic that it got eaten by the coyote. I know someone who had his chihuahua get eaten by a mountain lion. Cat eats dog, hah!

Coyotes are carnivores, its expected if you are in an area of coyotes to keep an eye on your dog. I love that she has a reward if someone can bring her back.. HAHA. Jessica, your dog is dead, period.
I live on a farm, so this is normal to me, heck, i watched our rooster get beat up by an eagle and taken away.
And a coyote is not a cat, its a dog species.

@Cali- I kind of misread your post, so disreguard if I don’t make sense, lol but what do you mean by cat eats dog? Lol

1. I think Obama should get the Zune for best comment as *Commenter*-in-Chief, executing his opinion – speaking the truth about Kanye. *Condemner*-in-Chief is too judgy and belongs to the judicial branch, silly.

2. Dugard kidnapper bail: Oooo. They are *on* the job! Well, sorry, that’s 18 years and $30M too late, unless that $$$ goes to a “loss of life fund” for Jaycee for failing her all that time.

I’m sick of hearing someone say “Why is Obama ___________ when we are in a healthcare crisis?!”

Excuse me, the the guy is human. He is allowed to do the following:

Sleep
eat
spend time with his wife/family
take a #&@$%
have a casual conversation
comment about Kanye West being a jackass in casual conversaton
(among other things)

back off already, jebus…

I thought it was great!  I love a president that will call a spade a spade.  I thought way too much was made out of his fly killing tho- the ninja stuff was pretty funny, but people actually got upset at him for killing a fly?

pssst - we all have health care, some of us do not have insurance, but we have access to the care.  And it is against the law to be denied critical treatment.

I too, am a little miffed by the president comment. I’m getting pretty tired of everyone seeing him being a human being and telling him to get back to work. Come ooooon. Maybe we shouldn’t have gotten ourselves into such a mess that we have come to expect someone to shovel the #&@$% from around us 24/7.
