Not surprised about Sean…that’s some kind of omen when you don’t thank your spouse in your Oscar reception speech. I know he said he did that on purpose, so maybe they’ve been separated for awhile and just put on a show of being together for the Oscars.

Re: The (Fairly Odd) Penns… Read her interview (pre-Sean). Is there a divorce category for “irreconcilable sameness?” She, has issues too… both emotionally disturbed and stunted, just differently. Tho, Sean, of course, takes it for King of Douches for the speech and sundry other things. Vanya, I think Oscar’s was for show, too.

Sean Penn just screams “#&@$%.” I saw his wife on some documentary and she just seemed like a sad, beaten-down woman.

Judy, she is, but she was “off” before Sean. And, Robin’s been with Sean her entire adult life, staying mostly home to raise their kids. No wonder they clung to each other, sharing many neuroses, and why she’s so skewed and screwed up. If she’d had the support of good GFs, maybe she would have fared better. That “beaten down” thing comes from isolation, too.

Robin’s interview (pre-Sean): “...I was very much a loner. I had two girlfriends. I had more male friends—I’ve always been more comfortable with guys. I don’t get that chick-vibe thing…”
