Quick Tip Of The Day: Neosporin For Zits
It might not be for everyone, but it’s worth a try to dab a bit of Neosporin on a pimple before bedtime. It’s best to use for whiteheads that have already broken the surface and possibly ruptured the skin. Because it’s an antibiotic ointment, it will help prevent infection, and might also help to minimize scarring (nobody likes an acne scar on their face). Easy, and best of all, it’s cheap. this is my favorite way to get rid of pimples. I always put some on each spot and rub it in, then top it off with some light moisturizer before I go to bed so my face isn’t all greasy during the day

I’ve always thought of that! I’ve been using neosporin on the big major infection zits for some time now, it works really nicely.

That was an accidental discovery. Try Benadryl Itch Relief Stick too. It has shrinking, protecting and analgesic properties… also, an accidental discovery following a tropical vacation of mosquito bites, then emergency care for bee stings! Both good, cheap anti-zit by nonzit products.

I joke that Neosporin is like my mom’s Windex (“My big fat Greek wedding” reference, anyone?) Now that there are other people backing her up…maybe she isn’t so crazy.

I used to do this too a few years ago, but I found after a few days use it would make my face itch like crazy.

i get whiteheads on my legs and usually don’t notice them until they are so painful i HAVE to pop them with a needle. but i always put neosporin and a bandaid on them right after and two days later its like nothing was there.

If it’s one that has already popped, dab it with hydrogen peroxide first and let that work a minute, then put the neosporin on.

Love it. Other great zit-fixers:
* minty toothpaste (helps shrink them and diminish the redness)
* Visine (gets the red out!)
* cold spoon (shrinking and flattening effect)
* Bio-oil (really helps prevent and heal scars - I can’t live without this! and even though it’s an oil and my skin is oily, it never breaks me out!)
* Bare Minerals (best way to cover up your zits because this stuff won’t lead to more breakouts, in fact it does help your skin heal and stay clear)
* tea tree oil and chamomile tea (the tea tree oil helps clear up acne, the chamomile calms and clears up redness)
* hot bath (steaming your face then washing it thoroughly right afterwards in the bath really really really helps prevent breakouts and heals them faster)
* Neutrogena pore refining toner (is great for body acne and facial breakouts of all types & it’s also great for any unevenness, bumpiness or folliculitis)
* Neutrogena clear pore cleanser/mask (best quick fix ever. I apply it all over once a week and dab it on pimples as needed. It works best as a mask.)
* I also LOVE LOVE LOVE the morning burst and calming nighttime facial lines from Clean and Clear (the stuff isn’t really that effective but it smells so good and feels so clean and fresh on the skin!)
* oil absorbing sheets (help prevent breakouts)
* using hand sanitizer constantly helps prevent spreading bacteria on my face
* tanning (clears up skin and helps prevent infection!)
I know all the tips for clear skin. I’m just so busy and distracted it’s hard to remember them!
* and yeah, Neosporin works! (especially for pimples you picked at too much, popped or ones that are bleeding or infected)
And by the way, Proactive doesn’t work!! I like the toner and mask, but the stuff didn’t help clear up my skin. Total waste of money!
