I did. I wore gorgeous silk pants & jacket for our civil marriage service, and a wedding dress for our church marriage service.

The fact that I would want to wear a dress does not make me traditional by itself. I’ve never considered myself very traditional - it’s just that I love beautiful dresses and rarely, in life, can we justify spending WAY too much money on an outfit but people expect a woman will spend quite a bit on her wedding dress (I mean, it IS the day she will be the most beautiful in her entire life! *said tongue-in-cheek*)....So, I will finally get to buy a dress fit for my elaborate dramatic fashion fashions. We’ll darn it….I guess, I need to want to get married first!

Gab/Sass: Heck, go panti-less under that dress and snatch a secret moment in the groom’s garter ritual.
Pants don’t do it for me either, tho ok for others. I’m behind, so I’m skipping right to the second marriage.

I don’t plan on ever getting married, but I wouldn’t wear pants. I like big froofy dresses and, damnit, I will have one if I ever walk down the aisle.
However, the choice of the groom wearing a dress intrigues me. I think that would be way more of a tradition break.
Not to mention I just like guys in dresses. So it would make me feel like I was doing the right thing if the guy wore one instead of a tux or a suit.

my friend got married in pants—a whole outfit she designed with a designer and it was perfect.

Honestly I don’t know that being traditional has much to do with it… I’m with Gabby and Sass, I love dresses and your wedding is simply the best excuse you will ever be given to spend way more than is generally acceptable on a fabulous dress!

I never wear skirts or dresses but I can’t imagine getting married in pants. It just doesn’t seem right. If I get married my dress most likely won’t be traditional but it will be a dress. The wedding pants would be perfect for a lesbian wedding though. One woman could wear a dress and the other could wear the pants.

I can see this working for a “mature” bride, but I don’t think it’s for me.
